Sunny Side Up — Restaurant in Sayreville

If you want great classic breakfast food made with love and priced the way food should be, then Sunny Side Up is where you need to be. My girlfriend and I found this place through a quick internet search and we've gone every Sunday since. The staff is friendly and the owner is always there. They're quick to refill your coffee and the place has a great atmosphere and cozy vibe. The omelettes are phenomenal and come with delicious home fries. The waffles are spot on and the French toast is a classic done right. If you want a real breakfast, go to to Sunny Side Up. I'd also like to mention that you get WAY more than you pay for. As a senior citizen, I've been in many good restaurants in my time and this one is up there with them. What dumbfounds me is why the owner(s) does not accept debit/credit card payments for food prices that rivals and perhaps exceed those of other establishments that do. They would rather stick the customer an extra $2.15 fee on top of the bill. Then rather pay a smaller transaction fee themselves for accepting such card payments. It's a shame that they're doing this in this day and age. I was slightly embarrassed when I pulled out my card to pay, only to have the waitress let me know that they only accept cash and then politely pointing to the ATM. This has to be quite frankly one of the worst places I’ve ever dined at..

First of all, the service was incredibly slow.. I was waiting over a halfway for an omelette with toast. Then when the food arrive, there were multiple hairs in not only mine, but my partners dish as well.

We were so put off by this, we didn’t bother getting it replaced rather than just asking for a refund. They seemed hesitant to even want to comply with that, because the waitress sent a manager over to try to convince us to reconsider.
