Pepe's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Schererville

This place has great margaritas but their tacos are poor and they put a weird sauce on them and the tortillas weren’t cooked. We asked the owner if we could exchange them but were yelled at about how we should be raised better! Instead of being told no (which I have no problem paying for them) however she never came back to the table to ask if we wanted anything else to eat or give us our bill and clarify that there will be no refund we sat there for 40 minutes waiting for her to come back so we can just pay for our food and leave. I was really uncomfortable and disgusted with the way I was treated I felt that at this point we should just leave since we were handed no bill and were being ignored. When we walked up to the front no one was standing at the desk. As we proceeded to pull out of our parking space this scary woman comes running out screAming getting so close to our vehicle window she was hovering over me with her hands on her hips asking if we left anything on the table I said no I don’t have any cash only card and you never came back to check on us you not only made us feel very uncomfortable but you never offered us anything else to eat as if we were forced to eat the food we didn’t like and didn’t have an option to pay for anything else. You took pictures of my license plate and blocked us in with your big body so me already not wanting to be around you went back in to pay for my meal and you called me many names accusing me of trying to steal you 9 dollar soggy tacos if I was trying to steal I would have for sure gotten away from your troll under the bridge...

My boyfriend and I stopped in last night for Tacos and a margarita. Apparently our waitress Maria was the bartender also. We sat for long periods of time before she would come by. We both ordered raspberry margaritas which were tasteless! When we were finally able to get Maria to the table to tell her, she just grabbed the drinks off of our table and walked away with them. She didn't ask what was wrong or if we wanted anything else instead (we assumed maybe it was the raspberry and maybe strawberry would be better) we didn't get the chance to see! She seemed very uninterested in taking our order at all! We had to ask the hostess to locate our waitress for the bill and we had to get our to-go containers from the hostess. This was my first time at this location and it will probably be my last. Why sit dining customers in an area with a waitress that doesn't have time to waitress? We watched the couple that walked in with us, seated two seconds before us receive very attentive service from their waitress. They were sipping margaritas before our waitress even came to the table to offer water! Luckily the hostess bought over chips and salsa or we would have just been sitting there with...

Unfortunately I had to give it 1 star! LET'S START WITH THE WAITRESS CAME TO OUR TABLE WITH HER MASK UNDER HER CHIN!! I ordered a simple steak quesadilla, menu said it was made with steak, cheese & PICO DE GALLO!! I received my food took one bite an tasted NO pico so I pulled opened all the pieces to find there was no pico on any of the quesadilla, when the waitress FINALLY RETURNED I let her know and she told me it didn't come with it I told her the menu said it did she acted surprised and asked if I wanted it remade, I told her no because my husband was already done eating his dinner. I asked for a box as she could clearly see I did not eat any of the dinner. She then told me to let the owner know so as I went to pay I told the owner about the mishaps and he could care less. He was not in any way apologetic or did he even offer to take the food off of my bill I even told him how nasty it tasted and how he should update his menu. not to mention it's completely overpriced just because it's in the city of Dyer that's a shame that those residents who live in Dyer have to pay those prices for that kind of service in food and to take the chance to catch covid no thank you I will not...
