I don’t remember the last time I enjoyed a date night with hubby this much! I mean literally everything was 10/10. We were driving by couple weeks ago and the place caught my eye, not sure why this never popped up on google when I searched restaurants in the area. Hidden gem! We generally love Greek food, and a lot of places are as cute and vibey as this one, but the food is mediocre or bland… Not Here!!!! I’m too lazy to write more details, but the comp hummus for sharing, sanagaki app, and 2 entrees , the first lamb dish, can’t remember the name, and filet mignon were all perfect, I don’t know what else to say lol. But it gets better…. 1/2 off wines on Wednesdays… and the waitress let us sample a few before we settled on one of the whites, I’ll attach a pic. More on the service, Melissa was one of the most welcoming and pleasant servers I’ve ever interacted with! It was our first time here so she went over the menu and wine pairings in a quick but very concise way that was actually helpful, although I looked at the menu a few times before coming hahah . I also enjoyed the Greek music playing in the background at a very fitting sound level that added to the ambiance. Plus, it wasn’t too busy and I don’t know if they did that on purpose, but the seating arrangement was perfect , like some places will sit all the tables kinda next to each other on slower nights, which I get why.. but here everyone was very nicely spread out, which made the atmosphere very relaxed and they got decent sized place! Curious if they built the restaurant from ground up or remodeled something that was there already. I honestly don’t even pay so much attention to all these seemingly small things but everything just felt so well thought out in this place. I didn’t even mention the interior and decor yet, I mean wow… love love love!!!! Last but not least… my incredible H let me yap all evening and also had zero complaints...
Read moreI actually didn't want to post a review. Due to them being brand new. A local business. All that jazz. But, I stumbled upon their Google Reviews... Once I found these reviews and the rude responses from management/owner I no longer felt bad posting my thoughts also. We were so excited to dine here, prior to even stepping foot in the door we set reservations for Greek Easter also because we knew it would be amazing. During our appetizers, those reservations were canceled. We love trying new restaurants. New foods. New drinks. We don't worry about the price, as long as its worth it. The decor is pretty, the hostesses were sweet, the server Olivia was sweet but really uneducated in regards to the menu and could not really assist in questions. We decided to splurge...ordered 3 appetizers, Dolmades, Saganaki, and Octopus. For anyone who has never had any of these items, they may like them. For someone who grew up on these items, they tasted like a "fast food" version. Our meals...not very good at all. We had lobster pasta, shrimp pasta and the greek chicken dinner. My daughter also had butter noodles. They lack a lot. Presentation, flavor, portions, ect. I believe they need to throw some sort of seasonings in their kitchen because nothing was seasoned in any way shape or form. There are no seasonings on the table either, which is typically ok, because restaurants who do not put salt and pepper out usually do not need it. Nisi, though, they need it. The alcoholic beverages...they are decent but nothing spectacular. I would not waste another dime going back to try anything else. Our bill was over $230. They are charging Chicago prices for an "Olive Garden" experience. We would have enjoyed a dinner at Tzatziki or The Simple Greek much more, lesson learned. I am shocked to hear the own more restaurants and I am very curious to know which ones... This doesn't seem like a business that has...
Read moreAfter traveling throughout Greece and enjoying such wonderful food, and reading the numerous reviews on line about the amazing food and gorgeous interior design at NISI, I could not wait to go. As soon as I walked in I thought I must be in the wrong restaurant. The charming atmosphere consisted of sponges in the ceiling and huge macramé fixtures with garlic bulbs hanging, which certainly does not qualify for beautiful or charming ambiance. Then unfortunately, the food served consisted of overpriced small portions that were even a bigger disappointment! Starting with Spanakopita Sticks for an appetizer, they were tasteless and greasy and you needed a magnifying glass to find the spinach. The four of us each ordered different entrees. The Chicken Lemonato that was described as half a chicken consisted of a large thigh and drum stick, NO breast or wing! The Shrimp Pasta described with fresh squid calamari ink to make it black was really spinach pasta with four shrimp. The Tono Tuna was served like sushi tuna with just one onion skin and three small broccoli filets. The Sea Bass was satisfactory but was served with a bowl of very bitter large tough greens. The chocolate cake for dessert was extremely dry and served with ice cream that was slimy and runny like it was mixed with marshmallow fluff. Needless to say, due to the high prices and poor quality of food , we will...
