TL;DR: Nothing but drama from this place. Between disputed bank charges, fees for not using cash, and unhinged responses to negative reviews- the food is not worth it! Read the whole thing if you want.
Forces you to order through their app now for pick-up. There’s a $3 service charge for this (or $4.17 through the website). Plus, last time I used it, unbeknownst to me the restaurant was closed (no mention on their website), and I was charged and my order was canceled. When I tried to work this out with the restaurant I was told to take it up with the app! Well getting ahold of the app is nearly impossible. Had to dispute the charge with my bank. Plus, had to find somewhere else to eat in the meantime and everyone was let down and hangry. I do not want to eat in the restaurant so I’ll be spending my money elsewhere where I don’t get charged just to get them to take my money!
Update: the restaurant’s response is incorrect. If you call the number on the website it will ask you to select number 1 if you want to place the order. Once you do that, it will promptly hang up on you and text you a link to order ONLINE. You cannot get a human to take your order unless you go to the restaurant. So we did that, and lo and behold we were charged a fee for using our debit card and not cash. I don’t have this experience anywhere else. BEWARE THE HIDDEN FEES!!
Updated update: the owner’s responses to honest reviews seem a bit unhinged. Calling me a liar? What would I have to gain from lying?! First of all, the first few times we ordered here, we were not charged a debit card fee, so the change was a surprise to us. The rebuttal that lots of places do this? I disagree and in fact can think of two Mexican places in town that DON’T charge me money to take my money. No worries! I’ll go there from now on. Not worth the drama of this person. Just read the responses to other negative reviews lol. Star removed simply because of the unprofessionalism from the owner.
Good luck if you have a problem at this place! Apparently accountability and hospitality are not in...
Read moreCasa Amigos has been open for all of 3 weeks now, and I have eaten in restaurant there twice, and carry out once. The dine in experiences were great! The first day they were open, I went with my co-worker and we were amazed by the transformation of the building, it is BEAUTIFUL inside! The staff was ready, they knew their jobs and got right to work seating us, bringing chips and salsa & drinks. They took our orders and the food was out so fast, and absolutely delicious. Our waitress was a lot of fun to talk with, very personable and friendly. The second time I was there was on a weekend evening and we were a party of 4, 2 adults & 2 children. We were treated just like we were on my first visit. Fast service, our waiter checked in often (my kids found it funny that we asked him for napkins or refills and he would thank us before he walked away), so the level of politeness was exceptional. I also greatly enjoyed the noise level. I have a very hard time hearing people talking when there is a lot of background noise so it gets frustrating for me, but Casa Amigos had the music on at the perfect level to hear it if you wish, but were still able to carry on a conversation with those at your table comfortably, I personally appreciate that more than I can ever express. Third experience was a carry out order with work and the person who walked in to order returned in minutes with everything perfectly cooked and as wonderful as it is for sit down. So, if you can't tell, I definitely have a new favorite Mexican restaurant, and I'm sure it will be at the top of...
Read moreCasa Amigos has a very nice interior and it also has a small bar area if you do not want to be seated at a table or booth. The complimentary chips are very good but the red salsa is thin and not very flavorful. I requested some Salsa Verde with our food and it was "different" than what I am used to. It was creamy smooth with no chunks and little to no spiciness or Cilantro. Either the server made a mistake or that is the way it is prepared, my guess is that it is blended with Avocado. The shrimp dish that I ordered was Ok but like the other items there was a lack of spice which also goes to the flavor of the food. There were tomatoes and peppers in with the shrimp along with some sort of buttery sauce that was lacking in Mexican spices. Do not get me wrong, the shrimp were good as far as shrimp go but not what I was expecting. The same goes for the toppings of lettuce, tomato, onion topped with a dollop of guacamole for your (4) corn tortillas if you were wrapping the shrimp up with those. There was no cilantro or jalapeno in the toppings as you usually find in Pico de Gallo. The rice and refried beans were acceptable.
For this experience I will give it a "C" on food, if and when I return I will likely ask the server if they can...
