Candyland Cottage & Ice Cream Shoppe — Restaurant in Scott

So we had Lily and Ivy’s birthday party today. We first arrived and were told after we set up everything that the restrooms are not in working order and that we would have to cross the Main Street in Scott to take the kids to potty. We asked why wasn’t anyone notified and given the option to cancel. So the young lady in the front says that they have had parties since it happened yesterday and that we would be fine if we just crossed the street. 😡 so we asked if they could call the owner. He arrives in a 🥵 mood. He starts hollering at my daughter telling her that there is nothing he can do that the lines have to set up and he can’t rush them. Well, we understand that and it would have been nice to know that was the issue ahead of time. So then he continues to holler other things and then proceeds to say well there is nothing I can do that will make you happy. We didn’t ask for anything other than to take the kids to the restroom. He then follows me outside and continues to speak to me. He says I will give you $50 off the use of the room. Sir we don’t want money off of the room. So I asked him to please leave me alone. He continues to follow me so I told him if you don’t leave me alone I will have to go get my husband. He continues to holler at me while I walk away for the third time. People this place is ridiculous. The owner is very unprofessional and doesn’t take into account that his business accounts for kids. A three year old doesn’t understand to hold it for 10 minutes while we load you up in the car to drive you across the busy intersection to use the restroom. He had no right to holler at anyone let alone a lady already under stress of a birthday party. Then at the end...the party went over by 20 minutes due to dealing with this mess and they had the nerve to tell her well we took off the $20 for the overage of time. What a joke...it was your issue that caused...

I've been to Rayne and Scott Candy Land Shoppes. Took my visiting grandson to Rayne and yesterday I visited the Scott store. Very expensive and not worth a trip back to empty my wallet for rude, entitled store clerks. As I was shopping in the early evening, wanting to surprise my husband, I would set things down on the counter as went along. Each time I set things down, the unhappy locking young girl would rudely as ask if I was done yet, each time. I then asked her if they were getting ready to close and she said no. Ice cream was the item I wanted last. A different girl waited on me there and had a somewhat better attitude. It was an impulse stop since I had just left urgent care and have a fracture in my big toe. Even though I'm a S. LA native, I liver on Myrtle Beach, SC for nearly 25 yrs. There are several really nice Candy shops there and much larger, old fashioned candies, ice cream, novelties, etc and so busy that the stores require several employees at a time. Quality staff who have personalities who can work with the young and the old. I felt as thought I was treated with a bias, I'm a woman of a certain and age and I'm handicapped. I was the only one in the store, yet they never came out from behind the counter to greet me or ask if I needed anything. I spent over $40 on candy and ice cream. I'm not going back to be treated like that. Fudge is gummy, meaning its made using corn syrup. Chocolate pecan fudge is stale. Some of the wrapped candy is also not so fresh. I thought there would have been more of selection of candies from yester-year. I don't see how this store can survive catering to only the young. In my former position, I had at least 25 employees during the summer. Attiudes like the girls at two of the ststores I visited wouldn'twith me. This store still lacks irs...
