I don't like giving negative reviews, but people who don't listen mess up your order twice because there are too many managers is unexceptable. I took a picture outside in the big beach chair before going in. After stepping into this restaurant, it was simple, but the theme was micro Brewery. The server was nice, and I specifically asked for grilled chicken with tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, and fried egg on a gluten-free bun with garlic mashed potatoes. She said no problem. A manager i found out later brought my sandwich. I ate the garlic mashed potatoes before the sandwich came. Here is where everything went wrong. The sandwich was on regular gluten buns, not gluten-free. I told her not to let the kitchen staff just switch the buns and call it good. I am allergic to gluten, and just switching the guns would send me to the hospital from cross contamination. To please completely remake the sandwich. It also didn't have a fried egg on top either. Then things went to worse. Two men from the kitchen one was a manager came to me and asked what happened to my order. I told him what I ordered and what actually came instead of my real order. He told me the order wasn't written down correctly, but I didn't buy that answer. I have traveled all over the world for many years reviewing hundreds of restaurants. No one can bullshit me anymore, and I can pick out the owners/ managers very easily. He told me he would yell at the kitchen staff. I told him that he would only get my food messed up or cross-contamination for sure. Please don't just take care of it himself. My sandwich came back a second time with a gluten-free bun but no fried egg. I ask the same female manager why there was no fried egg? She said she didn't know. How would I like it and how. I asked for it on plate. The kitchen manager told me he would remake the sandwich completely but it never happened. After all the confusion and mistakes and to many mangers not communicating i was done. I walked out. Not trusting this restaurant for a good reason. If you have a gluten allergy stay away from this business.
I will never recommend...
Read moreOn a recent visit to Flip Daddy’s in Scottsburg, I had high hopes for a casual dining experience that would deliver quality comfort food in a laid-back setting. Unfortunately, from appetizer to entrée, the experience was a lesson in culinary disappointment.
I started with the Buffalo Chicken Dip, an appetizer that should be a warm, creamy crowd-pleaser. What arrived, however, was a half-filled cup that looked more like leftovers than a freshly prepared starter. The dip lacked both flavor and heat—temperature-wise and in terms of spice. Worse yet, the accompanying chips were stale, adding an unpleasant crunch to an already underwhelming dish. For the price, the presentation and portion bordered on insulting.
Moving on, I ordered the Scottsburg Burger, enticed by its inclusion of a fried egg—usually a decadent topping that adds richness and moisture. Instead, the burger tasted like it had been precooked and reheated, missing any hint of grill-charred freshness. The patty was dry, and the overall flavor uninspired.
The accompanying side of chili arrived in yet another small cup with an odd inclusion of saltine crackers. The chili itself was less of a soup and more of a paste—thick, dry, and oddly warm in some spots and cold in others. The texture was off-putting, and the taste was reminiscent of something microwaved from a can, not made in-house.
From top to bottom, the meal was a failure of execution and quality control. The poor presentation, questionable freshness, and reheated feel of nearly everything I tasted makes one wonder if there was a staffing issue or kitchen oversight that day. Regardless, diners deserve better—even at a casual eatery.
Unless major improvements are made, Flip Daddy’s Scottsburg location will struggle to win over customers who value food that feels thoughtfully prepared and...
