El Dorado Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Scottsdale

Neighborhood bar. Same patrons there for 30+ years. Previous owner Doug did a great job. The bands, food, and staff are all very good in the evening. I gave it one star because, as a previous regular patron, the bartenders during the day get nvolved in the neighborhood gossip to a point that if they decide they don't like you they will concoct and spin stories that are amusing (if it's not you) while smiling to your face. The gossip and fictional stories resemble grade school and iit is unattractive and unappealing. This behavior leaves folks wondering what is being said when they walk out the door. As a result patrons, such as myself, that have been frequenting that location, long before it was called the El Dorado, have stopped going in at all. This is an issue that the owner should address, barroom gossip is nothing new, and when management doesn't contain it their elaborate stories about individuals and couples, sometimes pitting one against another (some.who even moved away) and their personal relationships and personal lives that are passed around as truth can do some damage to a good business. When the owner joins in all respect is lost. It used to be a really good neighborhood bar. A place we could walk to. During these uncertain times no one in the service industry should be driving away business. It just takes a few bad apples to ruin an otherwise...

We love the wings here. Ordered wings to go tonight, Wednesday 3/23. And sat at the bar - owners son said it would be a wait. We didn't mind cuz we love the wings. Asked for a dozen wings - he said they come in 10. We asked for extra veggies. We got the order and it was not to go - he handed us a to go box and we just shoved it into the box and left. Got home there was only 9 wings, we got charged for an extra ranch and no extra veggies. Called the place just to let them know what happened, didn't complain or ask for a refund .Owners son got on the phone and laughed at me saying "should I refund you for 1 wing?" Was extremely rude. Live down the street and love the wings, will never go back because the owners son laughed at us for being disappointed in the service, he stated " we are really busy I don't know what goes on in the kitchen".

Must Read I love this bar. Recently under new ownership, so it's more clean than it used to be. Food is bomb, give it a try. They service breakfast until 2pm. They have a green chili burger that is killer for lunch or dinner! Great Happy hour prices until 6pm. Awesome food prices overall, but they do a daily deal. Mondays are $5 build-a-burger with all the toppings at no extra charge. They have a pool table inside and a stage. Previous owners used to do live music and karaoke, not too sure anymore. There is a back patio that is purely for smokers. I don't mind it, it's got history of being that type of patio, and I know that some locals look for that. Its dark in the place most often (but that is one of my favorite features with kind of that dive bar style). I wouldn't bring my kids here, personally. Plus it's a good place for adults to wind down...
