Temptations Cafe by Pandesal Republik — Restaurant in Scottsdale

My husband and I stopped in for the first time since the holidays. It was after noon so he wanted a sandwich but I was still able to get breakfast. We have gone probably 6 times in the past years because they have a cozy covered patio but had only gotten breakfast or salads in the past. Always good and fresh,. The last time we were in the new owner introduced himself and encouraged us to try the burgers and soups. He makes them from scratch and gets his meat from a local butcher.

I went for a breakfast scramble which was good as always and nice portion. At first my husband ordered a Philly Cheesesteak but they were out (not surprising because they were near closing). He remember the discussion about the burger and decided to go there. He is a huge burger lover and his favorites are normally STK or AZ88. He wasn't expecting this to hit that mark.

As he pushed his plate away with almost the entire burger gone, he said he was so stuffed (the sandwich is huge) but he also was so pleasantly surprised at the quality. It easily lives up to his favorites! Well cooked, high quality ingredients and huge portion. He said the fries were also good but he hardly ate any because he didn't want to waste the burger.

First off I am a local business owner myself, and I know that anything under 5 star reviews can be damaging to a private business. I ordered the egg sandwhich with country potatoes over the phone, the person on the phone was very pleasant and used my first name quite often. I showed up to pick my order up in about 12 mins from the call, it was ready right when I got there. I asked if she took AMEX, and she politely said yes and was very kind to me. I went back to my place of business and enjoyed my breakfast sandwhich and potatoes. It was good, and very delightful. I couldn't imagine why anyone would want to give this place a less then 5 star Review. I wouldn't say the food is to die for, but goodness people it is good food for excellent value, and from friendly staff.

So I ask why did Julie write them a 2 Star review with out really explaining the reason why she had a poor experience? Are we expecting a little too much when all you can ask for is decent place to offer good service and at bargain value.... this isn't Ruth Chris Steakhouse.

Was excited to meet an potential client there because we love supporting local places. Pulled up and saw their sign saying best coffee in town. Now I was really intrigued! We got there before the potential client and took a seat at the counter because all the tables were filled (it was 10 a.m.) When a table opened up, we grabbed it so we could carry on a conversation better. Got the coffee. Now maybe I added too much creamer, I always try and give the benefit of the doubt, but it was lukewarm, and not the best in town in my opinion. We ordered 2 meals and we all had coffee. We talked as we were eating, but no more did we finish eating, and we told we need this table. I was completely taken back. Were we really getting "kicked out." Yep, we were. I realize they are a small cafe and table space is valuable, but there was space outside and at the counter.
