Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Scottsdale

This place has flat out awful customer service. I love Jack in the box and I go there to grab food late night after my work shifts because it is the only fast food open past 10 in my area. Over the last 6 months I have noticed a steep decline in the service at this location. Multiple times I have arrived at the drive thru line and have been ignored or even told flat out that “they are not open”. When someone is clearly there because they are speaking to me and it is not even midnight yet. Not to mention the line is never long yet it takes forever to get your food… multiple times I’ve encountered people honking in the drive thru out of frustration when there are barely any cars there and it shouldn’t be taking so long. However I’ve put all of these things aside and still given this place my business over these past 6 months…. Until today. Never have I ever written a review about anything let alone experience what I experienced tonight. As I am placing my order I hear a man violently screaming in the background of the intercom. At first I ignored it and wrote it off as something I maybe heard outside. But boy was I wrong. I pulled up to the drive they window and as I am paying the man in the background is violently SCREAMING… and I mean screaming saying things like “you want your effing food? Well I want my effing cigarettes!” Never felt so mad in a drive they line in my life. Complete disrespect for not only me and other customers, but also the poor young man on the intercom who has to deal with these belligerent outbursts. This place NEEDS new staff desperately. I will probably still be back… hopefully I won’t be ignored at the speaker. (Edit) not only does the manager not care but the owner clearly does not care at all. He has responded to an abundance of 1 star complaints with the same bs. Again this is the only place I’ve ever written a review on. I am in line right now at 12pm and I’m being told the inside is closed just for today. This location needs to be shut down at this point. They lack cleanliness, customer service, common decency, and above all they can’t even get your order right. Flat out embarrassing and absolutely the worst run fast food location I have ever come...

The state of this place has slowly declined over the years to the point I can no longer give it the benefit of the doubt for simply being a fast food joint. The last time I went no one answered me at the drive thru, I had to yell in order for someone to reply to me. The guy taking my order told me how much I owed, but then as he was taking my card he told me a higher amount. By the time I got his attention to correct him he'd already rung up my card, and everything devolved from there. It turned into a game of "how many Jack in the Box employees does it take to fix a payment issue". I was told they can't refund the money, then they asked if I was using a prepaid card when it clearly looked like a debit card. Finally one of the employees gave me cash in return (important to note it was less than what they initially charged me for). They gave me my food, but not my card back, so I had to remind them of that. Then randomly he says they had to ring my order up again for the correct price. I tried to explain he didn't even give me the full amount in cash he initially charged me, so I'd be paying more than what I should for my food. What I said clearly wasn't registering with him. Finally, who I can only guess was the manager, stepped in to say I wouldn't be charged again and let me leave. All the while the line behind me was backed up by at least four cars, and people were yelling in frustration. I don't usually get frustrated with service at fast food places. I usually never write reviews because things are usually acceptable. And FYI I love Jack in the Box! But I was up in a very wealthy side of town on Thompson Peak Parkway, so I assumed that I would walk into a pristine Jack in the Box location but I was shocked and disgusted how dirty this place was! I needed to use the restroom so I assume that this place would be very clean because of its location. I walked into the restroom and look in both stalls and both of the toilets were disgusting! Needless to say I did not use the restroom there and I just ordered my food to go. They gave me my cup for my soft drink and I could not believe how filthy the floors were, how filthy the mat was in front of the fountain drinks, how filthy the actual cup holder and backsplash was of the fountain drink machine as if it had been wiped down in a very long time! And how filthy all the countertops were on each side of the fountain drink machine. The food was good. But I was in shock how unsanitary the bathrooms and everything else was in the place.
