updateI went back in and the lady is there! The food was amazing and lots of it! I hope this is the new Norm! For now going back to 3 stars because hopefully he won't come back. Will only order food if she is there . If things stay this way 5 stars will come back and so will I!
Used to be one of my favorite places but now, some guy working the front desk, rude and doesn't belong in food service. Last two times I've been there and since this guy is working the front, food service has gone downhill, ordered a carne asada quesadilla and it came empty, almost no meat, rushed, under cooked and very little cheese inside. When I asked him about it, he told me well it's just different Cooks. Didn't do anything about it. Ordered the rolled tacos and last 2 times very little guacamole or cheese. Seems when the lady was working the front desk it was better. Somebody should get her back there. Time to find another Mexican restaurant closer. That's how you lose customers, inconsistency and poor...
Read moreWe came here for dinner bc of all the good reviews here and from an article in Bon Appetit. Knowing that this is more like a fast food type of restaurant, i warned my family don't expect too much in terms of service. Once we ordered our entries from the dated menu on the wall, we had to ask for napkins to clean the table and bench seats as it was dirty, along with wet floors as someone probably spilled water. I don't penalize the ratings based on service or cleanliness, but I couldn't get the old towel smell from the tray when I got the food with the whole meal.
The cheese enchiladas was good but there was some cold spots as I usually like it hot and melted. The chicken enchiladas was okay, and so was the fried beans and rice that came with the combo. My son like the beef taco where the shell seemed to be the deep fried kind. The carne asada burrito was just okay, but other reviewers seem to be raving about.
I guess I couldn't get away from that old towel smell from the tray...
Read moreThis place has always been 'okay' for fast Mexican food- it's quick, and local to Scottsdale... and that's about it. Breakfast burritos are pretty good- other than that it barely passes. And it only passes, mind you, because really excellent taquerias from Mesa and Phoenix haven't moved in here yet. Warning! Watch out for the staff here: the lady that works when the owner isn't around is the NASTIEST woman- on the phone, in person, it never matters- she's ALWAYS a problem. The food is never hot when she works either, and I think she sucks the life out of that place and brings everything down with her horrible attitude. She's sooooo rude EVERY time- to everyone I know that goes in there. She was working last night (4/30/24), and color me surprised- she was nasty and rude again. I've only gone to this place recently because it's close and convenient, but NEVER AGAIN. I WILL drive and happily give my business to someone else from now on just to avoid the...
