This was a major let down. We called ahead at 530p and the woman implied they were extremely busy. We made a reservation for 7p but showed up at around 6:15p to a 3/4 full restaurant and were seated after only 5 mins. The remainder of the time the place nearly cleared out (Friday night). We ordered our food promptly and my wife received her salad. We had our two little kids with us and they never brought their food. Every other restaurant will bring kids food first or with adult appetizers. Waited over 45 mins for our food and only when I began to ask where it was did it suddenly come out. I asked the waiter if it was just sitting there and he implied they JUST made it all fresh. I ordered the wood roasted 1/2 chicken and as other reviewers mentioned, it's terribly dry and mine was cold but the plate was hot indicating it was sitting under a heating lamp. Ordered my kid's burger well done and it comes out med rare to medium. The manager Tanner was already defensive when I began to indicate the issues with late food. Their reasoning was that they were waiting for my wife to finish her salad? They never asked if she was done with it and most importantly, the waiter never asked if we didn't want everyone's food served at the same time or staggered etc like pretty much every other restaurant clarifies especially when kids are dining. I also asked if they didn't want the feedback because they took offense to it (while their other business owner responses here say they would rather hear about issues at the restaurant when it happens... Exactly what I was doing). Then the manager insisted he can bring me another chicken dish in "2 mins" and even after I said no (honestly couldn't just wait even longer as we're approaching 8p by this time) and despite me saying no 5 times (and continues to show he's offended by his body language) he still brings me another one! Then he said he did that because he wanted to show they can bring it out fast... That means he's trying to prove me wrong and wasted a ton of food I never wanted to begin with and couldn't you just have brought everything out earlier to begin with? I ask for the check and he says he isn't charging for anything. I insisted I will pay for the other food and he still refuses. He said he wanted to make sure we didn't have a bad night...I don't think he understands customers are there to pay for a good experience from the beginning... Not an argument all night in front of my family and a horrible "free" one. Unless tonight was an off night the food was not up to par to reviews and or pictures . My wife’s burger ( where’s the beef ) was not even close to thickness in posted picture with the great review . She said the bun was stale . Where’s the beef ? Very thin all bun no meat . Maybe chef was shorting portions ? The waiter was poorly trained . Didn’t even poor the water from bottle or say his name . I ordered porcetta which he was not familiar with . Cooking Porcetta takes time . The first bite was wax like chewing rubber and the crisp skin was like chewing light bulb glass . This means it was cooked too fast and not long enough . Next bite was very chewy again so I sent it back . A quality restaurant would not serve porcetta ( more like pork rubber ) unless they knew how to cook it . No manager or owner didn’t even take the time to come over and attempt to rectify issue . Tells me they knew it was not cooked properly or did not care. Brought a chicken sandwich home For my son Diablo style ( they left out the Heat ) again not even close in thickness to pictures. My son is an expert on chicken sandwiches. Then I ordered the Rotisserie chicken . Not hard to cook a simple chicken . All I could taste was Rosemary ( 5.99 Costco chicken kills this ) Where these reviews and pictures on their site came from we don’t know . But very misleading Ordered an espresso and it took forever . We were seated so I could see in kitchen when door opened and waiter was clearly not trained to use The machine assuming they had one . It came out in a coffee cup no crema flat and thick as mud . Poorly made . Served in a coffee cup ? Says this is Italian Restaurant? Took one sip . Honestly I wanted to just leave . I have no reason to leave a negative review unless deserving . I do not know owner . If tonight was an example of the true quality save your time . These pictures do not match portion size served . I would guess after 3 drinks anything might taste good . I am going to ask for a refund . Any restaurant of quality and success the owner or manager works the room and asks his or her patron how was the food . I sent my Rubberized Pork back with no visit from owner or manager . Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Thompson 105 tonight. Our server, Ryan, started by recommending an overpriced appetizer that was just okay. But the real issue came when he got my entrée order wrong. It was clear from the start that he wasn’t fully paying attention while I ordered, so I guess the mistake shouldn’t have been a surprise.
When the wrong dish arrived, Ryan was nowhere to be found, and we had to flag him down. After explaining the mistake, he barely acknowledged it—no real apology, just disappeared again. When the correct dish, the chicken marsala, eventually came out, it was unfortunately underwhelming.
What truly infuriated me, though, was that Ryan left the incorrect dish on the bill and added the chicken marsala—effectively charging us for both. For a mistake that cost us 20–30 minutes of our evening, I would have expected my entrée to be comped or at the very least for the incorrect item to be removed. Instead, we were charged for food we didn’t order and didn’t eat. It took us calling this out to get it fixed with no apology or any effort for proper ammends.
I’m honestly embarrassed that I recommended Thompson 105 to my business partner based on a previous good experience. That’s the only reason this review is getting two stars instead of one. But tonight's service was unacceptable, and it’s disappointing that no manager ever stepped in to address...
