Andy Gavin's Eatery & Pub — Restaurant in Scranton

I haven't been to Andy Gavin's in years, and when my husband wanted clams at a local picnic, I preferred an atmosphere to sit down in. After conducting some research on what restaurants in the area serve clams, this was a great choice, as we've been frequenting many of the same restaurants for years and want to expand our go-to options. Ugh, not only disappointed, but almost angry at what was placed in front of us- a dozen clams each that could have been the size of nickels- if we were lucky, and the shells were small and thin. How can you charge customers this price and not be completely embarrassed?!? I mentioned this to the waitress, to which she responded, "Well, this is an appetizer." That's completely unacceptable. However, it's not the responsibility of the individual taking the order. Still, it is the responsibility of the person who does the ordering in the kitchen, and the person in charge of pricing. To be fair, I ordered a special, fish tacos, and although I cannot remember what type of fish, they were delicious. Look at the price of the clams in the photo! If the clams were worth it, it wouldn't have been a big deal. My husband def won't go here again. Do better! In these times, you need all of the repeat customers...

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in this area. I was always told great things about this place and since I have been pregnant, I have wanted nothing but wings. The waitress didn’t write anything down so nothing we ordered was followed. We were never given silverware and once she gave us our food, she never came back for us to get drink refills or ask if we needed anything. We were at a table of 5. My one friend ordered a chicken tender basket with ranch instead of honey mustard. Because of that, she got rid of the honey mustard off of both of our boneless wing samplers. They also did not give my friend the garbage fries they asked for but they were charged for it. We ordered buffalo fries and when we asked for the bleu cheese that came with it, we were charged for it. All of the hot wing sauces tasted like ketchup and had practically no spice. The garlic parm we asked for on the fries had no garlic taste and we needed copious amounts of ketchup and salt to make them even taste good. Definitely disappointed and would...

LEFT HUNGRY.

I thought that maybe my bad experience was just an off night since it was a busy friday night, but based on similar recent reviews it seems like a trend. My boyfriend and I ordered a veggie burger & Street tacos with 1 beer. The beer never came after about 10 minutes, another waitress walked by and we asked about it, and was told “oh yeah we were out of that one”, which is fine but the waitress didn’t think to come tell us? Our food took 50 minutes to get to the table. Understandable on a busy night, but a table of 4 arrived 15 minutes later than us got ALL of their food 10 minutes before us. When the food arrived, the food was so mediocre. I understand that a veggie burger is completely different than a real burger, but it had zero taste. I had to ask for garlic sauce to get any flavor on it. I’ve worked in restaurants for the last 8 years and am VERY understanding of rough nights, but likely my first and last time here.
