To preface this, I’m actually very sad to write this review because I have heard good things about this restaurant and was very excited to try them. If anything changes, I will update my review but here’s my first experience with this establishment: So, my mom is a bargain shopper and there was an advertisement on Groupon/Clipp for a promotion. She purchased two vouchers which came out to $25. Unfortunately the second purchase was accidental but we thought nothing of it because unfortunately ALL SALES ARE FINAL (caps for emphasis) on the vouchers. We figured out our order and called to place an order. Come to find out, the prices are incorrect on the menu and online. Okay, maybe they forgot to update the menu, no biggie. The kicker for me was when they refused to honor her voucher because their promotion ended “last month”. But here’s the thing.. If the promotion is over… Why is it still being advertised today? Offers are updated every week (Wednesdays) and the merchant (Halal AFC) receives money for these voucher purchases and the platforms get a commission for promoting it. According to the terms and services of Groupon and Clipp, it is up to the merchant to honor the coupon and they are typically good for six months to five years. Now, when she went there, the staff was polite to her but kept denying her, saying it’s the wrong location. She showed the address and they ultimately told my mother to argue it out with Groupon/Clipp instead of honoring their end of the bargain which ironically, Clipp will reach out to them and ask what is going on. So, she had to pay for her food after purchasing two vouchers for $25 on top of paying for the food which comes out to approximately $50 for chicken and fries. You cannot cherry pick when and if you want to honor a deal your business offers. It’s unethical and portrays a good example of bad business practices. I’m very upset by this because it’s going to take a little more than 3 chicken wings to make up for what appears to be a scam. It’s distasteful to do this and gives a bad look for the entire restaurant industry because now people have and should feel reluctant to purchase restaurant deals to try new places. Very...
Read moreIf you’re a fan of crispy, flavorful fried chicken, then AFC (halal) is an absolute must-visit! This place truly delivers on every front — the chicken is not only halal but also incredibly juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. You can taste the care and quality in every bite.
I went for the classic fried chicken, and it was honestly some of the best I’ve had. The seasoning is spot on — a perfect balance of spices that leaves your taste buds dancing. The portions are generous, and you definitely get more than your money’s worth. The fries, perfectly golden and crispy, complement the chicken wonderfully, and I love that they offer a variety of sauces to pair with the meal.
What really stood out, though, was the friendly and quick service. The staff are welcoming, and it’s clear they take pride in serving great food. The shop itself has a warm, no-frills atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a quick, satisfying meal.
Overall, AFC (halal)has definitely earned a spot on my list of go-to spots for comfort food. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, I highly recommend stopping by for a taste of their delicious halal...
Read moreI recently tried Halal American Fried Chicken and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and the portion sizes were generous. I also loved the lamb over rice—it was tender, perfectly spiced, and paired well with the white and hot sauces.
The service was great, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for delicious halal food in Scranton, this is definitely a spot worth checking out!...
