I’m not sure how people have pictures of good looking food - nothing we ordered was nicely presented, looking fresh, nor tasted above average. We got fake-fresh vibes, which I suppose is expected at a large coastal quick-turnaround restaurant. Drinks were average - we ordered 2 from the cocktail menu and could tell they were premade (again, I suppose to be expected). Both would be acceptable for the tradeoff of the environment, but oh my goodness was service an awful deterrent. Sure, we went in the afternoon on a decent weather day, but it wasn’t packed - there were open tables. It took several minutes until someone greeted us, then they DESCRIBED WHERE to seat ourselves. The deck only had 1 server so she took about 10min to quickly say hi to us, then after 15-20min waiting for her to return to take our drink order (to no avail), I got up and went TO her and said I know she’s busy so I wanted to save her the trip to our table; she took our order then said she needs to go to a different bar for one of the drinks so it’ll probably be “awhile” until it’s served. So, by the time we START our first round of drinks, it’s been appx 45min. She rapidly took our order, transactional 30 second interaction. Food came out at separate times and some were missing the ordered sauces (which we pointed out, but the food runner nor server returned with the sauces). Such little attention given that we joked we could probably dine and dash without anyone realizing. As a server, I get it when you’re stretched thin in your section, but either give away tables or tell management to spread out seating times, and if management doesn’t see the issue, then the place isn’t going to last long. It was chaotic and tense, appeared poorly managed, and seemed staff were poorly trained and unhappy. A total culture turn off. With it being new, I’ll give it another try next summer, and hopefully have a completely...
Read moreMy husband and I went for dinner at Ernie's. It was our first time there. We were looking for a place with a view. We weren't disappointed. We sat outside on the deck with a view of the water. There were a few outside decks and even a roof deck (but the roof one wasn't being used at the moment). The inside of the restaurant looked spacious and had some ocean views as well. There was a lower area that had some chairs and fire pits. This looked like a nice place to sit and have a drink to enjoy the view.
A man set up and sang some live music. I appreciated that it was the right amount of loud. You could hear and enjoy it, but also could have a conversation and be heard. It was very enjoyable.
We were seated quickly and our waitress was friendly. The food was great. I had a garden salad with salmon and my husband had fish tacos. They were delicious. I liked how my salad wasn't just a big bowl of lettuce. The salmon was amazing and cooked just right.
The only thing that we didn't like was while I was still eating another staff person (not even our waitress) came over and just left our bill on the table and walked away. My husband had planned on ordering another drink. No one asked if we were done or wanted dessert. It was very strange. I didn't know if they were trying to rush us off. It wasn't even full. We only saw our waitress one time after ordering. So, we paid and decided to leave.
Overall, we did enjoy our dinner out. The prices were reasonable. The food was great as was the views and music. I would definitely be up for going back. There is also a small beach beside the restaurant that you can park. We stopped there after to...
Read moreThe location is great the service was awful And the food subpar. It was a slow Monday night and the servers seemed spread to thin it took a lot of time to get a second round of drinks and the check and besides taking our order we only saw our server when he ran the check. We ordered calamari which was great well seasoned and a good portion size for an appatizer. The seared tuna which came with steamed brocollini and wasabi mashed potatoes. The tuna was somehow seared but overdone it had a chewy consistency and was bland which surprised me considering it was drizzled with a ponzu sauce and crusted, the brocollini were steamed well but lacked any seasoning even salt which struck me as an odd choice but the wasabi mashed potatoes were good. The final item was a grilled chicken sandwich which was dry and a little burnt with Avery dry bun the fries weren't bad. For our drinks we got the Pina coladas the first came out great but the second round had so many ice cubes that hadn't been blended it was hard to drink. The location is great sitting outside you have an excellent view it's a shame the service was so poor and the food so expensive and...
