Café Javasti offers a charming spot for both coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors. Inside, you'll often find people on their computers, enjoying their drinks in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The friendly barista contributes to the welcoming vibe, making it a great place to unwind with your favorite beverage. The iced mocha, in particular, is a standout. The café also provides outdoor seating, perfect for those sunny Seattle days. Besides the great drinks, Café Javasti is known for its delicious crepes, both savory and sweet. Favorites include the Mushroom Pesto Tomato Mozzarella Crepe and the Strawberry Nutella Whipped Cream Crepe, which are made fresh and attract a loyal following.Café Javasti prides itself on being a neighborhood gem, and its dedication to quality and community is evident in every aspect of the café. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee or settling in for a work session, Café Javasti is a delightful choice in the Green Lake area

Crepes are great. Crepe cook is great. Rest of experience, and the service is awful. One crepe cook who does all the work. Slowest cashier I've seen anywhere. Rest of staff while probably nice people seem to be doing nothing to help. Waited 10 minutes for cashier to take the single order ahead of us and then waited 45 minutes for 3 to go crepes which were all simple and the same. They got cold while they were made one at a time at the solo crepe station by the solo hardworking crepe cook. But crepes were delicious even after being reheated when we got them home. Hoping owner adds a 2nd crepe station and trains staff to help so service is faster. Crepe cooks are great (both weekday and weekend ones-- we have gone both times.) Weekday service is faster because there are fewer people during the week. But still inefficient usage of staff, cook doing all the work, and wait times too long.

One of the older coffee shops in North Seattle, this place has been in existence since the early 2000's. It has the usual selection of coffees, teas, and pastries, plus a crepe maker so you can have a bigger breakfast if you like. Interior is spacious and inviting, with artwork decorating the walls that rotates each month. The baristas are all knowledgeable about their craft, and have a rapport with the regular customers in the neighborhood. There is also limited outdoor seating in good weather. The best bet on the pastries are the scones, more on the flaky side rather than crunchy, with a light glaze of frosting on top. A very good spot to relax, have a morning cup, and watch the world go by.

Getting down immediately to the issue, when a customer asks for something, that’s what you give them. Let me elaborate.

I had really hoped to give this place a much better review. Initially, things went really well. I have allergies and the staff was very nice about addressing my questions about ingredients (I was also very careful to make sure no customers were waiting). In the end, they decided to custom make a drink rather than check the ingredients of their mix, which was fine, but ended up not working out so well.

Anyway, one of my requests was “light ice” on my blended drink, where I was paying extra for coconut milk. Well, my drink had almost no milk at all and the cup was overflowing with ice. After paying over $6.50 plus 15% tip for my drink, I wanted what I ordered, but the woman insisted that she knew best and that it would all be okay once it was blended. She knew best and I could not sway her from making it her way. I was angry, but I was not in the mood for a fight.

I took the drink and left. It tasted like water with a bit of coffee and chocolate flavoring. After drinking it, I was left with 1/2 cup of ice. When I later called, not asking for any refund or any compensation, but simply asking that in the future, if someone asks to have a drink made as they ordered it, that she listen to the customer, she explained to me why the drink came out as it did (something I already knew, which is why I asked her not to make it that way) and told me I could return to have it fixed. Ummm…here’s a thought…don’t make it that way in the first place if a customer asks you not to!!!! Also, if you knew it would come out badly that way, why make it and why insist it be done in the manner the customer, who certainly has had this accommodation made before, asked not?

It’s a very different thing if a customer is not happy with a drink once it is prepared. It’s a very different one if they ask it not be prepared in the way you insist. A customer should not need to return (I was on foot and on my way to an open house) to have their drink fixed.

Meanwhile, Cafe Javasti, please keep in mind that $7+ coffee is not a necessity. People pay that to have a treat…a pleasure. It should not be an...
