Tiktok @conniesreviews Very disappointing visit. Go elsewhere! The staff looked like they were lost and the left hand had no idea what the right hand was doing. Definitely not enough staff. We arrived and waited a long time to be seated even though there was no one else waiting. We had 3 staff members walk by us and say "someone will seat you soon" but no one ever did. Eventually, one of those same 3 people came back to us to seat us but she looked extremely unhappy to have to do so. She told us to follow her, she walked up to a table (more like just passed by it) tossed the menus down on the table and walked away. Not saying a single word to us. We sat at the table waiting for someone to take our order. Someone eventually showed up and took our drink orders. We had 2 simple drinks, an iced tea and an Agua fresca, no alcohol. It took 10 minutes to get our drinks. The agua fresca was anything but fresh. It tasted like pure sugar syrup. We finally had our order taken. The tortillas on both plates were cold, ice cold. The carne asada had zero flavor. The rice was undercooked (I'm being generous, there were completely raw rice grains still in the dish), the fish was fried well but bland. No seasoning on the fish or breading itself. They were covered in a sauce that made the fish soggy. The chimichangas were fried well and the meat inside of those was decent. The best thing on our plate was the corn poblano soup. The nopales were not treated correctly for the nopal salad. They were super slimy still. There was a couple sitting next to us that was also having issues. They had been there well before we arrived and still hadn't received their food, only to be told that no one had actually taken their order although someone had come by to take their menus away. Very confusing. When they got their fish & and chips, the fish had a lot of bones, so they were unable to eat it. This place had some good reviews, so we were expecting at least decent food and basic service. Both were missing. I would not recommend it to anyone, overpriced for horrific food & service. It's a cute restaurant with nice decor. Otherwise, nothing really good to say....
Read moreDiscovered this little neighborhood gem a few years ago and its been a favorite special brunch treat ever since. The restaurant distinguishes itself by serving American classics with a flare and changing its menu and interior decor every seasonal quarter with international inspiration from countries from around the Americas. Customers love what they are doing, because of the line with every visit but the food is worth the wait. The specialty dish is the Sunday night Fried Chicken dinner with all of the fixings. They start serving the chicken at 5 o'clock PM and it's "served until it fly's the coop". Come early if its fried chicken you want. We came the weekend before and was seated at 6 o'clock and by the time the waitress came to get our order at 6:09 PM the chicken was sold out, but no worries because every dish is delicious. Tonight we arrived at 4:30 PM and sat in the bar to have a drink as we waited for fried chicken time. The waitress served us our fried chicken promptly at 5. The dinner is traditionally served family style but because we were seated in the bar she asked if it was ok to serve us adult portions on individual plates. It was ok. The presentation was mouthwatering and smelled fresh and enticing, each piece of chicken was generous and plump, juicy tasting inside and the skin was crisp yet light and didn't fall apart when bit into. The mashed potatoes were light and fluffy and topped with creamy homestyle gravy, steamed carrots and a giant soft fluffy buttermilk biscuit. Upon the first bite I understood why people come back over and over for this favorite dish. I will definitely be back for the chicken dinner. As far as the employees whether being served in the bar or in the restaurant, they have just as much personality and flare as the menu items and the drinks. The drinks are festive regional inspirations from the featured country as well as varied selection of traditional quality crafted cocktails, bottled or on tap beer and even a selection of old fashion styled spiked unique flavored milkshakes. This is sure to become a favorite little haunt for those who like service, drinks and food with an...
Read moreAfter years of passing by, my husband and I finally stopped into Endolyne Joe’s with my brother and his girlfriend, who were visiting from out of town. We were excited to try it, but our experience was deeply disappointing.
We arrived during off-hours on a Sunday and were left standing for quite a while with no acknowledgment, despite making eye contact with multiple employees. Oddly, a customer walking out even told us to “have a good night” before any staff had even greeted us. Eventually we were seated by a friendly host, but things quickly went downhill once our server arrived.
We mentioned we were excited to try the place, but when we said we needed a few minutes to look over the menu, her tone shifted. When we were ready to order, she snatched the menu out of my brother’s hand. When he asked to confirm his order, she was visibly irritated. He ordered a beer, and she abruptly demanded all of our IDs in a way that felt needlessly hostile — we expected to be carded and had no issue with it, yet she treated it like a confrontation. Her behavior stayed snippy and rude for the rest of our visit.
The restaurant was nearly empty, and we were nothing but polite and accommodating, so the tension and condescension were hard to understand. We ordered drinks and small bites (appropriate for the time of day) and still felt unwelcome. Our server had only been there a month, but basic courtesy shouldn’t be a stretch.
It’s worth noting: my brother and I are Black, my husband is Asian, and my brother’s girlfriend is Jewish. We’re all professionals in our 30s and it’s hard not to wonder if bias played a role in how we were treated. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve left a review like this, but this experience was uncomfortable enough that I felt I needed to say something. The food was good, but unfortunately the service made it...
