Happy Lemon - MLK — Restaurant in Seattle

The employees seemed very terse with me when I ordered. In all fairness to them, I had a large-ish order, but the person working the register didn’t really seem to know what they were doing. The employees proceeded to take my dollars and then, without wearing any gloves, washing their hands, or anything, touch all the food and food-making instruments. Three of my five orders were wrong, and my bubble waffles were extremely under cooked. The store also seemed to have a severe fly problem, and they landed on employees and food all throughout the process. The one in Tukwila is much nicer. All this one had going for it is that it has a cute interior, and they are timely.

Edit: The owner replied to me, saying that they are required to wear PPE, but only one of the four to five employees on the floor was wearing a mask at the time of my order (approx. 3PM), and the two people making my bubble waffles were not wearing any gloves after both interacting with the register and money handed to them. Sanitization prior to work has nothing to do with germs accumulated during the working process. Wow...I rarely ever find a 5 star boba spot. I've had other happy lemon locations, but I was really happy with my order today. I came during their soft opening.

Got their fresh grapefruit jasmine green tea with crystal boba, light ice, 50% sugar. It was perfect for me! I don't like super sweet drinks, it was the perfect level, flavor of tea was there, that slight citrus grapefruit flavor was there too, and just the right level of sugar.

I decides to try their matcha bubble waffle with their puff cream.....this was the best bubble waffle I've ever had. The bubble part was soft, and the pressed parts were crispy!! I was surprised and very impressed, I never order toppings, but I got their puff cream because the cashier recommended it. I'm happy I got it because it was perfect with the bubble waffle. The puff cream was like a whipped cream with salted butter. The salted whipped butter paired perfectly with the sweet matcha waffle!

Anyways it was a great little snack for me, I'm definitely coming back and I'm excited to have this place really close to my home! I highly recommend it, can't wait to come to their official...

I am are regular customers at this store. Of all the bubble tea stores in this area, I go to this store often because I appreciated the quality. Now not so much. I came in to order a regular bubble tea and asked for 30% sugar like usual. I paid and tipped like usual. When I tasted the bubble tea it was much sweeter than usual. I came back to let them know that it was too sweet and asked them to make another bubble with less sugar. The two girls that was working there started arguing with me and took the bubble tea that I had then aggressively threw it in the trash. Apparently, they were not adequately trained in customer service. They made the drink again and it still tasted like the drink that they made before, too sweet. I’ve drank bubble tea long enough to know the difference between a lightly sweetened drink to a full 100% sugary drink. Suffice to say, they just lost a long time customer. I’m never coming back to this place. I’m sure other bubble tea stores will happily welcome a new regular customer. I’ll take my money somewhere...
