My parents and I have been going here since my youth for my dad’s birthday but we’re not giving them our business after this last time.
The restaurant went under new ownership & the new owner, Kris was so awfully rude and it felt like she was discriminating against us because my black boyfriend and his dad joined us. It was a busy day on Christmas which was anticipated so we waited patiently. She sat 5 different families before us who arrived after us. We must’ve waited 45 min. When we were finally seated by her staff & the carts of food came around to us, she came over to our table and demanded her staff to not seat us because we “sat ourselves” (she didn’t see that her staff sat us down.) She took our food and put it back into the cart. I felt so humiliated because this was the first time my bf’s dad & my parents were meeting. It was so humiliating that my mom lost her appetite and couldn’t even eat anymore. Everyone was watching us as the owner Kris was clearing our table before we even got to eat.. She didn’t even apologize for the miscommunication between her and her staff. We know not to expect the best customer service at restaurants like this, but this is not how you treat your paying customers. She just went over the top. As long as she’s the owner, we won’t be coming here...

This restaurant serves good food, but there are times they mistakenly give you RAW (uncooked) Food for To-Go. See the picture on Shumai. Its the steamed pork and shrimp dimbling.
Previous Review===== Joy Palace (restaurant) locates in a good setting with lots of parking. I've been to this restaurant for over three decades now good to see most of the waiters and waitresses are still there. The place looks nice and clean, and the customer service is exceptional. The presentation of the food and the taste is excellent. The owner is sincere and always greets you with a smile and asks you about the food.
Joy Palace serves fantastic salted fish fried rice, stir-fried crab with ginger and green onion, and the same with salt & pepper prawns. The crab maw soup is delicious if you want to get that as a starter. It comes in a big bowl you can share with 2-6 people.
Besides good dishes on their menu, they also serve dim sum in the morning till late afternoon. All items on the carts are...
Read moreI bet everyone who gave good comment was paid to do it. I had the opportunity to visit this place on the weekend and i found it appalling. The food was nasty, it looked worse then dog food and tasted like crap. The service sucked, the atmosphere sucked. Staff there are so unorganized and it showed .It was noisy and smelt bad. I took my family here and was embarrassed and disgusted let alone wasted the fuel driving 2 hrs because the paid geeks who like this place suggest i should try it. I strongly recommend to NOT eat at this establishment. The head manager should be fired how he kept yelling at my wife to not order from a menu and rather get the garbage food being served from carts. I think the FDA should go in and cite the place and close it down. This place may have been good to eat at in the past, but now it's not. the only thing that did taste good was the clean glass of water; by then i was too sick and disgusted and only sipped the water before...
