I've ordered the Caribbean Roast from the other Un Bien location before, so I decided to switch it up and go with the Press this time. The Press is similar, but it excludes lettuce & jalapenos, and instead comes with banana peppers, smoked ham, and swiss cheese, in addition to the pork. It's also melted in a press after assembly

This sandwich was interesting. I noticed right away that the pork felt a little dry on the half that I was eating - like it was overcooked a bit. That was definitely odd. Thankfully, the next half of the sandwich contained pork that was as juicy as ever, but it was definitely pretty weird what happened in the first half. Not sure if they accidentally overcooked that batch or something

However, the rest of the sandwich was as good as ever. The hard but not overly chewy bread, the ridiculous amounts of amazing-tasting mayo, and the best-i've-ever-had-level caramelized onions are standards you'll find on pretty much every sandwich. As for what's new on The Press, i liked the smoked ham the best - it had a ton of flavor. The cheese was fine - I thought it could have been melted more as it was a little stretchy, but overall still tasted quite good

For the price of around $14, this is a really good deal as far as sandwiches go

Is The Press as good as the #1, the Caribbean Roast? I wouldn't say so. However, I still do think its a fantastic sandwich in its own right, and I'll still be recommending Un Bien to absolutely everyone who will...

Vary well may be the best sandwiches in Seattle.

We dont eat much meat so my take may be off but if they can make a veggie sandwich this good then I have to imagine there other ones are great as well. We got the tofu delight and it was amazing. The mixture of caramelized onion, fried tofu, fresh bread, and sweet sauce was a perfect combo. The only bad thing is how messy it is which just means its not a first date place but if you can get passed that then it is 100% worth it.

The line can get pretty long but it goes pretty quickly so the wait is never too bad. They have two benches for seating that could probably fit 12 people each so sometimes it gets full but they are easy to take on the go and with golden gardens right there it is a good spot to grab on the way.

The atmosphere is nice as well. The color and lighting gives the tropical feel it was going for especially at night. The only thing I wish was a little different is the seating which would be super nice if it was a bit more open and had a verity of seating but its a small gripe for a great place. Parking is pretty reasonable since north of it doesnt fill up too quickly but its still seattle so im sure that depends on the day.

Overall a great spot and well...

I had been wanting to try this place for a really long time and finally made it in. We ordered the press and the Caribbean sandwich. I thought the sandwiches were very well done. The bread was super fresh, the meat was done to perfection, the garlic aioli provided the right amount of coating, the onions were out of this world, and just when you think it’s all about to end, the jalepenos rear their head for a flavor blast. I loved it and would be back. We attempted to call ahead and pickup, but I wouldn’t advise. We called once, and was asked to hold them or hung up. Called again, got left on hold. Called a third time, same thing. I thought maybe they were that busy they couldn’t handle another order. When we got there, I watch the girl answer the phone, put the caller on hold, then walked away… there was nobody in line and the restaurant was half empty. I think that could’ve put them over to a 5 star had we not attempted to call in, but it is what it is. I still though everything else was great and no complaints around the service for dine in. Just don’t plan to get the best service for a call-in takeout. I’ll come back...
