So, you know there's going to be quite the review when it starts out "so", this has been my go to Chinese take out for almost 18 years - until now. I'm not really sure what happened. I ordered a combo plate with General Tso's chicken, bourbon chicken and an egg roll. This comes with fried rice. I also ordered chicken fried rice for later this week. To begin with, the container they put the meal in was not secure at all. Thus some of the sauces leaked into the paper bag - not a loss for the bourbon chicken. The General chicken was good, yay. It went downhill from there. The bourbon chicken was frightening - the chicken was marinated in Chinese five spice. The chicken was red. The sauce was not bourbon sauce? Ick. Then there was the "fried rice". It was chopped white onion and bean sprouts that were sauteed a little and lots of white rice mixed in....... that's it. No spice, soy sauce, other veggies and literally a few tiny tiny bits of meat. My hope that the chicken fried rice would be better was shattered upon opening the container. Same "fried" rice with, no kidding, 10 tiny one inch strips of chicken shoved on top. Seriously??!? The egg roll that comes with the combo isn't even worth talking about. So disappointing and a waste of money. I hate to say this - I really used to love and depend on this restaurant but - next time I'm buying frozen from Publix next door. Don't know what happened...
Read moreI have been coming here for years but this was the first time I had ordered from them since I moved a few years ago. I was in the area so I figured I'd order for old time sake...well their quality has gone WAY down. I ordered the orange chicken combo dinner, the rice was not cooked enough, there was barely any pork or veggies in it. The 'chicken' was hard and chewy and was a greyish color, the orange peels in the sauce tasted old, one hit my fork and that taste lingered. I didn't even finish my meal because it was so bad and later on my stomach was so upset, I almost had to call out of work the next day. Not to mention they upped their prices and lowered their portion size as well. I will never go there again or recommend them to anyone. So sad, they use to be the...
Read moreTonight was our first time to order takeout from Bamboo Court. We wanted something fast and inexpensive. This place fit the bill. Definitely not the best Chinese food I've eaten, but not the worse either. The shrimp with mixed vegetables was very good, served with lots of large shrimp, the veggies were not over cooked. The chicken with cashews also very good, just slightly bland.
However, the pork fried rice was nothing like the usual fried rice one would get from a good Chinese restaurant. More like the yellow mahatma rice you buy at a grocery store. I'm glad the rice with our order was not a main dish !
Will I return to Bamboo Court? Yes, for the price it's decent. Portion size more than enough. Food was ready to go...
