Village Inn — Restaurant in Sebring

Evidently seriously understaffed. We waited 20 minutes to be seated for breakfast only to find when they took us around the corner to seat us there were only two other tables with people sitting at them in the entire room and patio area. They only had two waitresses working. Because they were seating people the service was fine once you were seated as she wasn't overwhelmed. So while I get the theory of not seating people if you can't wait on them properly, it is pretty bad that you keep your customers waiting and your dining room empty. Sort your staffing situation out. I watched the hostess get very stroppy with some customers who had the audacity to ask how much longer. (they were sitting while waiting where they could see that the room and the outside area which was where they wanted to go were empty so they were aggravated). They left in a bit of a huff and then she proceeded to bad mouth them to all the rest of us waiting to be seated. Not a very good look to be mouthing off at the customers you lost, whether they were nice people or not. I actually was happy they left because I was next in line and was seated before they had barely left the building. The food was ok. I eat here fairly regularly and sometimes it is very good and sometimes just ok. My salad was nice, fresh and crisp. My smothered chicken was ok. Unless they changed the recipe it was the wrong cheese on it. It used to be swiss but it was an unmelted slab of american processed cheese laying on top of the chicken and under the onions and mushrooms. It was barely softened on the edges so that tells you how hot my chicken was. My friend had hashbrowns and they asked if he wanted onions and cheese with it. He said sure to the onions and laughed when it came out because it literally just had some onions tossed...

12/12/23 lunch w/Mom. I had the Buffalo Chicken melt in a Wrap. It was good and the krinkle fries were good. Service was great!

10/28/23 a few dinners for takeout - All good! Pies too...

9/17 we dined in with Mom. It was good and i had the patty melt. It was good. The bread was infused with oil/butter.i think next time I'll ask for dry toasted bread. Service was great

8/23 take out for Mom, turkey dinner, good. Phone System still BAD! FIX THE PHONE!

7/17 take out for me n Mom. 3-6p deal. I got the grilled tilapia w/broccoli and cornbread stuffing. The fish was cooked perfect and had blackening spice, good. The Broccoli was perfect, not overcooked. The stuffing was on the salty side and i was not excited about it, lol. Mom had the roast turkey dinner and she really liked it. Stawberry rhubarb pie was great, i had the chocolate silk pie, that was good too. Due to a falty phone system, i could not call in my order so i went there and placed it. The manager apologized (nice, but not his fault) and gave us and extra slice of pie. That was very nice and thank you!

I'll certainly order more, soon.

6/5/23 take out dinner for Mom. Smothered chicken and strawberry rhubarb pie. Mom liked both! Good deal 3-6pm

4/23/23 first experience is a to-go order: Cobb salad and chef salad+ strawberry rhubarb pie. The menu stated "mixed greens" for both salads... That was Not the case. Iceberg was what we got. Disappointed with that... I hope that gets corrected soon, with the ingredient or the menu. I'd hope for real Mixed greens! Otherwise the salads were fine.

The pie was really good.

I'm sure we will order more to-go meals again soon. This place has good reviews so, i want to try...

Honestly, I want to give them a five-star review.

I made a very interesting request. I asked my server to have the cook separate my crepe so that I can put it together myself. Michelle was amazing.

Overall the food was excellent I had no complaints about the food at all. It came out in a timely manner, it was fresh and delicious and my request was granted perfectly.

I did not catch the name of all the staff that I interacted with but they were absolutely perfect.

However in regards to the facility, there's definitely some work that needs to be done. They did make the effort to make it COVID safe and provide separation barriers.

Unfortunately, my eyes often wonder up the walls into the ceilings and you can tell that renovations need to be made. I'm not complaining, I understand due to the pandemic and other unforeseen issues, everyone is trying to maintain and make baby steps to make renovations.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience as I always do it village inn. I don't often make it all the way down to Sebring to enjoy the restaurant but when I do I don't really have any actual complaints. The pie is always delicious I had French silk on free pie Wednesday.

They also have all you can eat fish on Friday.
