One of the top 5 worst dining experiences of my life, which is a lot coming from a restaurant critic. The restaurant was filled with empty dirty tables and only 2 tables with customers seated. Several staff members behind the counter were ignoring customers during our entire visit. Every item on an order of tacos is charged separately such as onions, cilantro, cheese, tomatoes. . . You know, normal taco toppings. This is misleading and dishonest to charge customers this way. Terrible flow in the layout of the restaurant which is not clear or a standard layout by any restaurant standards which causes confusion. The rude staff yelling and fighting to each other while talking VERY badly about the customers in the dining area in loud vulgar language was over the top. I would be embarrassed to be the owner of this establishment. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Incredibly rude staff, filthy restaurant, VERY dirty bathrooms, confusing layout, expensive menu after nickel and diming customers for every menu item, and the food was very dry and flavorless. I could not eat it. I have no clue how this restaurant has made it this long with things running in this way. Do yourself a favor and find any other Mexican restaurant...
Read moreService was excellent. We were very impressed by the young man that was our waiter- he was very attentive, kind and polite. We felt valued as a customer. There were three of us in our group and we ordered the queso appetizer which was very good. The chips were amazing and not greasy at all. We ordered the fajitas (which could not be finished - and it was nice to have a doggy bag to take home), a vegan taco and a steak (carne asada) taco; both were very tasty. We also had a bowl with the barbacoa for the protein option. The bowl was plentiful- layered with refried beans, rice, lettuce, guacamole and plenty of beef! The Mexican Coca Cola was a treat as well. The restaurant seemed very clean. Although we were there on the early side of lunch, several patrons streamed in while we were there and they seemed to be busy on the take-out side. We never heard of this place until we saw on social media (Seminole Happenings), how generous the establishment was to a family with several foster children. We decided to pay it forward and patronize them- so glad we did! Hoping to be regulars and already have sent the info to several...
Read moreI will say right out of the gate, I had a good steak taco. I will even say that the taco was worth the price, at least the Wed special price, in spite of the chunk of burnt cheese I pulled off the top. However, the wet burrito was awful, and the chimichanga was one of the worst I've ever seen. Both the burrito and chimichanga were almost entirely filled with Mexican rice, you could barely tell that anything else was in them. The guacamole had way too much lime in it, that's pretty much all I tasted. They also have a table right at the door with people smoking, which is off putting before you even start eating. The tables were also dirty. Went to sit at one that was all wet and sticky, and attempted to wipe it off, but the stuff wouldn't come up with a dry napkin, so we just picked a different seat. I left the napkin there. Someone took the napkin, but didn't even clean the table. That's just lazy.
I also thought it was fascinating that I really enjoyed the flavor and texture of the homemade taco shell, but that it instantly reminded me of the flavor and texture of a bad tamale. Not sure...
