Blue TeQuila — Restaurant in Sergeant Bluff

I hate to give places one star reviews as a former restaurant manager, but this one was a MUST! I came to dine in tonight with my mother and little brother, and while waiting for our food, a man delivered our burrito to the wrong table. This burrito sat on the plate at this table for several minutes while this family fingered the plate itself, examining the burrito. Once they realized it wasn’t a part of their order, they then told the man who delivered it. He then took the plate they had all just touched, and PLACED IT IN FRONT OF MY MOTHER. My mother has an auto immune disorder so going out is risky enough as it is, but to have a SERVICE WORKER present a nasty, FINGERED, TOUCHED BURRITO was absolute madness. When asked to fix it, he brought back the SAME BURRITO. When I asked if it was the same, he replied with yes and I said we wanted a whole new one, which i feel is a valid request. He then asked WHY? WHY???? Are you kidding? I told him it was because it had sat at that table for several minutes and this man proceeded to roll his eyes and take the plate back to the kitchen. I have NEVER seen a service worker have such disrespect to a customer right off the jump. I am so appalled at the behavior of the Blue Tequila staff. The waitress who serviced us did an amazing job managing this deranged man’s behavior. I won’t be back...

We went to Blue Tequila last week for my daughter's birthday, with a group of 8. We had been there many times before and always found the service and food to be on point. This time though, was very disappointing. When we first sat down and got our chips and salsa, it was apparent that something was different about the salsa, it just wasn't good. In fact after took a couple more bites it was really like eating Prego spaghetti sauce, heavy with garlic, it was not good. Didn't taste like salsa at all. The pop that some had had zero carbonation also and had to be sent back. The service was spotty at best as well, we waited long periods of time for drinks, and when our food finally came it was mixed up and we didn't all get our food at the same time, some had to wait longer than others. The icing in the cake came when we told them that it was my daughter's birthday. They normally will sing and celebrate. They still do that, but said that they'd only do it if we paid a $15 upcharge. This past Saturday we visited Blue TeQuila Sergeant Bluff for the first time! We had seen enough great looking food on their Facebook page to want to check it out! They had an extensive menu of great options but we settled with the Molcajete! This was actually not on the menu but we had seen it posted and it looked amazing! It was HUGE! Big enough to easily feed both of us for 26.99 if I remember right. This one contained chicken, marinated pork, shrimp, asada, cheese quesadilla, a kebab over the top with yellow peppers, zucchini, and more shrimp. Plus they served some great chips and salsa (we ordered queso as well) while we were waiting. It was a fun atmosphere and the staff were very nice. (they also were wearing masks and had plexiglass dividers between booths for those wondering).
