Cozy, order at the counter type bbq joint. Choices are minimal and a bit pricey for what you get. We ordered the chopped brisket sandwich and two loaded baked potatoes. The sandwich barely had meat and what was on there was fatty. The fries are awful and are not homemade. The potato salad and beans were decent but definitely not worth slapping your mama over. The baked potatoes were undercooked and contained so much butter that it flooded the plate. The texture of the potatoes almost made it inedible. Just hard chunks instead of a soft and fluffy. These also barely had meat on them. Unimpressed with the meal, we gave the dessert menu a try. The homemade strawberry ice cream that my son got received a thumbs up from him. The banana pudding I got was spot on. The fried peach pie that we also ordered was more comparable to an apple dumpling. It did not have that crispy fried pie crust. In fact, it didn't even look like it had even been baked. They nuked it in the microwave and the crust was soggy and doughy. Overall, the food was just ok. There are better options for bbq in the area.

I'll start with the goods: * brisket was on point! It was moist, tender and flavorful! * spicy sausages had good flavor and heat. Nice and moist. * sauces were good. I particularly like the tangy Carolina one! * potato salad was good...has a fresh tangy flavor. Onto the bads: * my biggest turn-off was the stench emitted from the tables and counters. Though everything was neat and wiped clean...the rags and the water buckets the girls used must not been cleaned in days...so all the surfaces emitted a rank odor! Good thing I got my food to go otherwise I would have never been able to eat due to the smell. * "pulled pork" was not pulled but chopped and overly dry. See pix. * ham had no flavor and had rubbery texture. * the fried pies were so greasy, it was like eating candied lard..."but they're fried pie, they should be greasy" you say...that's understood and expected...but I didn't expect for grease to be dripping from them.

In town for a lake get away and our friends had recommended! We had the place to ourselves and had the BEST time!! We ordered the decision armadillo eggs and the pimento cheese eggs, so creative and yummy!! Our meal was caeser salad with homemade caeser, in fact all the condiments are made in house!! Our table got two spuds, and four burgers. The burgers were filling and tasty! They even gave us grilled in garlic aioli jalapenos which were perfect! The tater tots, regular and layered were so good!! And the onion rings were crunchy and tasted great! We got some dairy farm ice cream to go since we were stuffed! Thank you for hosting us for a yummy late lunch! The service was funny and so helpful as we made decisions! The location is easy to find right off the highway and accessible bathrooms. Simple place with decor of the history of the town. Go check it out!

CHANGING MY REVIEW TO ZERO, I ONLY CHOOSE 1 STAR CAUSE I HAVE TO. We went back, and wow, things have changed, we ordered the ribs again, and the girl fixing our food said the ribs were falling apart and, we said that was fine but it wasn't. I left there hungry, the ribs fell apart, and I got the bones. There's not a whole lot of meat on ribs, but my ribs were 1/4 pound bones. This place is chincy with meat. They charge by the pound, that is a problem. 1/4 pound of brisket is probably a good amount of meat but 1/4 pound of ribs is not. The POTATO SALAD was GROSS. I don't know what it was, but they call it potato salad, this is TEXAS, we put mustard in potato salad. We drove a little further to go have bbq and found a place that isn't starving the customers. You charge high rates for small amounts of food. I pay good money for food and feel like I got ripped off. I also saw someone go out and smoke, and when they returned, they didn't wash their hands. I suggest the health department make a visit. I am a critic everywhere we go, we are customers and your employees come off as defensive when you ask a question, they have attitudes, their attire and hair are unacceptable, I particularly do not want a girl who didnt brush her hair before work but just stuck it up in a clip with a defensive attitude serving my table. I mentioned I left hungry due to meatless ribs and unfinished potato salad, hopefully you will use negative reviews to better your business, I don't care to see you defend your establishment over my reviews, it's my review that people use to decide if they should go eat at your...

Saturday, 10/25/26… This is yet another updated review of the Feed Trough as we have eaten there many times. And may I add that each time has always been an excellent experience.

My wife had called about the Schnitzel and if they were still serving it. They have it on the menu for Oktoberfest. She had mentioned that because of Hogan’s Heroes and all the German food they talk about on the show, I had a craving for German cooking. They usually serve it on days I work. However, I was off this past Saturday so she had asked if they would contact her if they were going to serve Schnitzel this Saturday. They contacted her and that yes, they were going to have it on the menu.

We were excited that we were going to sample some good German cuisine. We brought a couple of our friends with us. We were not disappointed. All four of us ordered the Schnitzel meal. The meal consisted of the Schnitzel (very tender pork cutlet that you can easily cut with a fork), warm German potato salad with a perfectly tangy taste, homemade spätzle and of course sauerkraut. We all loved it. The whole meal was scrumptious.

Kimberly served us and was so helpful answering questions about how the Schnitzel meal was actually cooked. I sure hope they keep it on their menu full time. You of course can’t go wrong with their burgers and the loaded...

We were new to the area, and one day we stopped into this little BBQ place. The first thing we noticed was the People who work there, they were very personal & friendly. My husband & I ordered 2 load potato's. I had mine with Sausage my husband had the Brisket. However when the food came, all that came out of my Mouth was OMG this thing is HUGE, & I am tell you the Sausage was mouth watering good, the Brisket was on point, these are properly the best I have tasted. The cook & server both came &checked in on us a few times, asking if everything was going ok & if there was anything else we needed, by the end of our meals we had struck up a conversation with them both, they were both so nice, and we felt like we were in their home enjoying our meal with great conversation. The owner is also the cook & he is just the nicest person ever, very friendly & just an over all good person, my husband & I have tried other BBQ places in that area (Sever Points Texas) & nothing compares to this place. We have not gone back to any other BBQ places up there, this Is out Spot for BBQ.. I want to Personally thank the Owner/Cook & Server y'all always treat us like Family, & we will keep coming back for your Good Food & Good...
