Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Seymour

Stopped by as we were getting out of Indy during rush hour on our way to Nashville. This was my first time ever eating at a Freddy’s, but was excited to try something new. The line when we got there was pretty long. There was only one person at the register taking orders, so took about 10 minutes for us to order. Some people took very long and we thought it was the service, but our ordering was pretty quick, so probably was people’s orders or them. The food itself took soooooo long! We were probably waiting for like 20-30 mins. Which I was kinda annoyed about since we wanted something kinda quick but also not McDonald’s quality. There was a mixed group of people in here. Some very put together folks, as well as some, ummm… not so put together ones..? lol. There was a couple with their daughter who I think came in because of an order issue, but was screaming in the restaurant and causing a scene. So that wasn’t very welcoming. The staff wasn’t great either. No one was really polite but also never said anything like, sorry for the wait, or would you like any sauce, or any just regular things to say as someone who works in the restaurant industry. Most of the tables were dirty when we sat down, but we may have came at that one time where it’s between when you can clean and take orders… The food was pretty good. We had a classic double steak burger with cheese and fries and a double bacon cheeseburger with cheese curds. The cheese curds were actually really good, nice batter on them and had a good crunch. The burgers were good, but I would like to try a different location sometime and have a shake or custard, but also a patty melt. This was my highly anticipated first visit to Freddy’s and It did not disappoint! I ordered the California Style double which was excellent, the cheese curds were decent but probably not worth the upcharge. Pretty clean in general despite being a little understaffed. Employees were very friendly, especially Devin. He was working custard and register as they were missing a dedicated custard person for the period in which we ordered. He was very calm and always had a smile on his face. One member of our group had wanted a milkshake but decided against it as it was expensive (Custard and Milkshakes here are expensive!). This was our first time at a Freddy's as we do not live near one. After walking into Steak and Shake down the road and walking out because it was dirty and the staff weren't interested in waiting on us, we decided to try out Freddy's. We walked in, and we were greeted by Frank. He was extremely pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with him. The food was absolutely delicious as well. Very cute and clean restaurant.
