My boyfriend and I came for lunch a few days ago. I’ll start with the good. The food is amazing! Everything we had was delicious. The pig & fig was a perfect stater and the flatbread was made perfectly. The toppings are proportioned where almost every bite you had a bit of each ingredient. I got the walleye sandwich and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. My boyfriend got the Tuscan skillet and it was perfect. We would come back again only for the food and drinks/beer. Beer selection is great too.
The service is awful. Our server was inattentive and overwhelmed. Never checked back to see how are food was. Didn’t ask if we wanted desert, just brought our check after finally clearing out dishes. There was an older gentlemen that appeared to be a front of the house manager literally standing at the rail for most of our visit just chatting away with the young servers not even remotely paying attention to the chaos around him. Completely ineffectual. Servers milling about on their phones. Two tables unbussed for I don’t know how long and watched the manger, who I believe someone referred to as Jay walk past them multiple times. Just a weird and awkward vibe. Read moreWe dined at the Shawnee Station Taproom & Kitchen last evening with friends. I'm not a beer drinker, but I was served a fabulous Margarita. There is also a nice wine selection. My husband and I over-ordered, as usual. So many things we wanted to try. We shared the double stack Smashburger (just the typical way, LTO, pickle and sauce) and it was excellent! We opted for regular fries as we're not fans of truffle and parmesan fries, though looking around, I think we are in the minority for that choice! My husband had a cup of the chicken chili and it was very tasty. Glad it has a thinner broth. (We're finishing that tonight!) I had to order the baked pimento cheese with blue crab. Awesome!! And then last but not least, we ordered the Strawberry/Spinach salad. Again, that went home with us to enjoy tonight. It looked fresh and delish, but we couldn't eat it last night at the restaurant. Brent was our server. Even though it was his first day there, he took excellent care of us. We're delighted to have new places so close to home. We will be back. Entered the facility figured I would order at the bar and have a drink and wait. Asked for the manager when I arrived wanting to let him know that they may have a phone issue because I have been on hold for 17 minutes to make an online order. With an arrogant attitude the (short bald headed ) manager says “we don’t do to go orders between 6-8”! I said it would have been nice if it was stated on the website or on the recording that I listened to for the last 17 minutes. Manager replies to me with, “we don’t answer the phones between that time” and walks off! Absolutely amazed that this guy had an arrogant attitude!
