Lulús place Authentic Mexican food — Restaurant in Shawnee

The food is delicious! Don’t be put off by the location, in fact you’ll be impressed by how these two friendly, talented women have turned their little spot into a contender for best Authentic Mexican food in my area! I had the tacos and was not disappointed! Flavors were spot on! I saw one of the ladies (who I think was Lulu) prepping chili rellenos, so I asked when they’d be ready. She told me the next day! I was excited to try them since the tacos were so good and they are one of my favorite things, but I kid you not! They were sold out by the time I got there for lunch:-(! I consoled myself with more tacos though, lol! Apparently, there are a ton of people who already know about Lulu’s Place, but I just found out about and am making plans to beat the crowd next time for sure! So this is a gas station establishment but I love how personable the staff is! Anyone who believes that they will have an out of the world experience at this place would be delusional since its clearly a gas station but the freaking food is amazing! My food was warm. The hibiscus tea is yummy! The tamale! Is Out of this world! Get there early so you won't miss out! Tacos we're definitely authentic and good! I highly recommend grabbing this to go. Just because it is a gas station this isn't where you take the family out, but it's great if your just passing through and want to grab real food, fast and family owned.

I’m from Texas where true authentic Mexican food is abundant. Here not so much! Until I found LuLus! They have THE BEST breakfast tacos in Kansas! Yes!!!!!! The entire state of Kansas! Totally took me back to Texas the first time I had them. In case you all dont know Texas has tacos and such pretty much everywhere. They will make them anyway you want them too. The people that work there are amazing as well! The only downside to this place is the long line! But hey……. That’s an awesome thing in my opinion because it shows how really good this place actually is! I highly recommend LuLus if you want truly authentic...
