Prayer Box Cafe — Restaurant in Shawnee

I’ve been to Prayer Box coffee twice now and have enjoyed it both times! My first visit I got a lavender latte (I love lavender and this was very good!) and a cinnamon roll. I’m not usually a big sweet eater but I devoured the entire thing. My husband IS a big sweet eater, so I told him we HAD to come back so he could try it, too. The second visit, I got the loaded avocado toast and lavender lemonade, both of which I really enjoyed. My husband got a coffee and tried their waffle breakfast sandwich. He really liked the cornbread style waffle and was excited to come back and get it again next time. We shared a cinnamon roll, and it was just as good as last time. The employees (& maybe owner) there are very nice you can tell they really care about the business! I would definitely recommend, and would love to come back and try their lunch options too! Great Cafe Amazing natural food, friendly owner. They have a very large selection of home made, from scratch foods ( sandwiches, Soaps, meals, Keto food, Pastries, Coffees, etc. Hard to pick one of the so many good choices. Owner is very nice and sociable, down to earth, greets and welcomes customers individually and talks to them to explain the different options. She makes you feel like you are visiting a good friend or a neighbor. She also provides free samples. Huge difference between this place and corporate owned cafes operated by minimum wage workers. Service is extremely slow. They only take one order at a time and only take the next order once that's one is done. At least on this Sunday that's how it was operating. One girl was just standing around do nothing. The girl who took our order had a bit of an attitude. Really didn't seem pleased to be there. Was short with my wife and I. There was also a dirty plate of eaten food on top of me past case next to the register. Food was delivered in waves and they forgot to bring out several things including an order to go. The food was ok, easily something I could have made at home, nothing special. A simple breakfast sandwich is $9 and comes with no side.
