Mind. Blown!!! This place is a hole in a pretty wall, but the scent of pure deliciousness wafts your nose before you get to the door. The people that work here are so friendly and happy to be here. They are genuinely proud to be a part of this establishment. The server shared a little backstory behind the crust: Two brothers started this place and went through 100 recipes to find the best tasting that would reheat the best. I make my own homemade crust and marinara, but this pizza crust and sauce are even better! I was so amazingly surprised! Tiny restaurant with enormous taste! They kept refilling the pizzas with all sorts of creations! Fresh, cheesy, gooey and deliciously crisp too!! Dessert pizzas were also super tasty! We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge and came here for dinner with family who lives in town. It was a 15 minute drive, but totally worth it! Don’t follow your Garmin gps! It tells you to get out on the south exit and we needed to go north. Used the google map and came straight here. We spent over two hours at the restaurant. We were catching up and visiting after we paid and tipped, then we sat outside on the patio to continue our conversations. The servers continued to offer us water and food from the buffet. They were attentive and friendly even, though, our imposition kept us there till after their closing time. I was just so impressed by the truly considerate way in which everyone treated our group of 10 throughout our entire visit. This place is truly special. Come in for the food. Stay for the unequivocally outstanding human assets! We will definitely be back and tell...
Read moreI was a little surprised to find that this Pizzeria was not actually in the west at all. This place is located in the midwest. I found this to be very misleading. We almost got lost coming here. Giuseppe and Bartholomew III made the experience more enjoyable with that Can Can dance session that they do at the top of every hour on the bar. The water was imported from Cuba, which is odd to me considering that there is still an embargo against Cuba. Who are these people? The Pizza crust was so crispy that we had a difficult time understanding each other over the constant sounds of crunching crust against fat faced patrons - me being the beefiest of the bunch. A bit on that - why aren't their chairs made for the truly hefty and horizontally challenged? To make matters worse, when I got a piece of crust lodged between my 2nd and 3rd chins, nobody that worked there bothered to tell me. Truly upsetting.
A side note - these guys make the best tacos north of El Paso, Texas. If you take a slice of pizza, and fold it, they say it becomes a pizzataco. They were not wrong! I was shocked that there was no salsa verde though!
This place beats all the pizza in Italy - granted I have never been there, but my imagination is better than...
Read moreUsed to love the pizza... Last couple of times it was just OK. Tonight we ordered pizza for the Chiefs game and when we opened the box I was shocked at the crust being burnt. I personally cannot stand anything burnt. I just don't understand how any establishment would burn the food and still give it to the customer. "Well I screwed that up but oh well they can eat it anyway." I understand people make mistakes but it should have been fixed instead of given to a customer as is. If the person cooking the pizza thought it was good to go then that's a problem in itself. We called and requested a refund. They refunded but now we have no edible pizza for the game and we didn't want to drive back to get one in the middle of the game. Very disappointed. I gave 2 stars because it has been good in the past. If this was our only experience, it would be 1 star. Pizza West is very pricey compared to all other pizza places around us and they really dropped the ball. I would understand this type of situation from a cheap...
