Was is the KC area and stopped at IKEA in the morning. Checked Google to see what was near by and found this. The reviews looked pretty good but was really hoping for DimSum but they arent doing DimSum right now. We decided to try it anyway. Small dining room was busy with the typical lunch crowd ordering from their lunch menu. Dishes look decent but we opted for chinese menu. We ordered steamed dumplings, mapo tofu, chinese broccoli in oyster sauce, beef chow fun and boiled fish in hot broth. All was good but some dishes were lacking in the flavor profile I was expecting. The steamed wontons were good. Very typical of chinese steamed dumplings you can get almost anywhere. The dipping sauce was good and I added chili oil to kicked it up. The chowfun was good and was cooked well. It was just a tad off of flavor I'm used. The gailan chinese Broccoli in oyster sauce was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mapo tofu was really good but i would have preferred more mala flavor. The boiled fish in hot broth was really good. The broth was reminiscent of hot and sauce soup and the fish was cooked and prepared well. I added some chili oil and a bit of vinegar to get a more acidity to the broth. Pickled mustard greens would have really made this dish even better. Over all was a good dining experience. I will try it again when they...
Read moreMy brother was bragging about this place for quite a while so I went to this place with my family for lunch. We tried their regular menu. (Restaurant is divided in to two, regular menu at the front side and dim sum at the backside) the hostess was nice and seated us. I assume it was the owner who took our drinks. All was going well until we got our egg rolls for appetizer. I asked the owner to take it back because it had an unpleasant smell and it wasnt crispy. The outer part was warm and cold in the inside so i knew they just heated it up using chef mike (microwave). Anyway, she told me that it was a different kind of egg rolls because it has a thicker wrapper and shouldnt be crispy. I told her that i cook egg rolls myself ( I AM FILIPINO) all the time and i know what egg rolls should look like. She told me that if i come back to their restaurant that i should not order eggrolls again. The rest of our order came and wasnt able to enjoy because of the previous incident. Food was so-so. Nothing special. The dimsum may be a better choice because it was full pack when we came there. But i wont be back to this...
Read moreI'm a regular customer of the restaurant. Food is always good but my last order was a terrible experience.
I received an email saying I could get a discount if I ordered over $50. All I had to do was enter a code at checkout. Well, the subtotal was over $50 but there was no place to enter the code at checkout. I continued on thinking it was going to give me a chance at confirmation, but instead it just finished the order.
Frustrated, I called the restaurant and explained the situation. I was told that my order did not qualify as it was not over $50. Evidently the delivery charge does not count even though the site shows the subtotal that includes the delivery fee. It would've been helpful to have a way to enter the code so it could tell me the delivery fee was not included.
This is blatant false advertising and I asked to be compensated for what was promised. She said she wouldn't do anything. Very disappointing.
At this moment I'm searching for another place to order food from. It's just so sad as I love this place, but I don't appreciate being taken advantage of. I also don't appreciate being brushed off...
