Scenic Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Sheboygan

This restaurant was one of the first places I visited when I moved back to Wisconsin. I missed my Friday night Fish Fries and my new roommate said this was a popular place.

He was definitely right. The place was packed when we got there (no reservations taken) and we ended up waiting about 1/2 hour before being seated.

Was the food worth waiting for? YES! Crispy battered fish with a flaky tender middle...I was in fish fry heaven. I believe it came with a potato pancake, applesauce, coleslaw and a slice of rye bread.

I ordered the pistachio torte for dessert, and although it was tasty, I was expecting something different. My German background says a torte is layers of cake with filling, but this was just basically pistachio pudding, layered with whipped cream and cake. More like what you might bring to a potluck dinner than a restaurant dessert. Yes, I ate it all, and it was tasty... just not what I expected.

The other nice thing about the restaurant is the wide selection of cocktails and beer. Which isn't surprising, since it is a bar and grill. I had a satisfying dark beer that was perfect with my fish fry.

I've been back several times and although it is always busy, it still is one of my favorite restaurants. But I still can't figure out why it is called the "Scenic" Bar ... it's on a street corner, not by the lake or river. Absolutely nothing scenic...

The atmosphere is friendly . The staff and the owners make you feel welcome .the food is excellent ! I personally feel that they have the best broasted chicken in town ! The prices are fair. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. In July of 2019 the bar was sold to new owners. The old owners did exactly what I said the food was great service was great the bartenders and waitresses or waiters were wonderful. I can honestly say with the new owners we are still very happy with the place. The new owner is very interested in making the place a success. They have changed the menu a little adding new things while keeping some of the old. They've added Sports on the TVs on Sundays. All the while the staff has kept the wonderful attitude towards the customers. I would highly recommend...

Five stars all the way! The Scenic is our happy place, and you have to try it. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a night out with friends or a drink with your significant other.

The menu has a great selection of food options, and it's easy to see why the Scenic has the best Friday Fish Fry in Sheboygan. Drinks are top notch as well, plus the homemade desserts, from cheesecake to tortes are amazing! My wife loves the pistachio torte.

The Scenic always has a fun and lively vibe. Service is always quick and efficient, and the staff always checks on us to make sure we are doing okay. They make us feel like family.

Overall, I highly recommend the Scenic to anyone looking for a fun night out with good food and drinks. Five stars...
