I've been to a few of the Kerby brand of coney islands, and it's normally one of my favorites. I'm still debating on how I personally feel about this store so I'll give the facts that I came across. We went there on a weekday afternoon, a bit after the lunch hour. It's right at an intersection so it's easy enough to find and get into, although getting back out of the parking lot could prove difficult if you don't end up on the right side of the road (depending on which way you need to turn). They had cones up in the parking lot to block off a section so there was very little parking, making that difficult. When we went in, it was more or less neat. There were some tables with stuff all over them, not yet having been cleaned up, but there really weren't many customers there, so maybe just a delay after the lunch rush, although it's really not good form to have a bunch of tables with dirty dishes and stuff all over it. When we entered, somebody shouted from behind the counter to just sit wherever so we did. The table was cleared off but a bit sticky like they figured they didn't have to use a cloth on it as long as they got the dirty stuff off. The staff came pretty quickly to get our order and was polite enough. In no way were we treated rudely or badly but they all seemed to have a sort of "I really don't want to be here and hate this job but have to smile so we don't get fired" sort of attitude which made me feel bad like I was forcing them to actually do their job. I get it; customer service can really suck with so many self-righteous people demanding everything left and right and blaming the servers for everything. I'll let the reader decide how they feel about that. Our meals came out alright; they forgot some stuff but immediately went back to get it, so it really wasn't that big of a problem. Trying to get drink refills, though, was a bit of a mess. As for the view, two sides are covered pretty much floor to ceiling with windows. They look out over the road on one side and a long parking lot on the other side with a bit of a tree line off to the corner. Since it's not right up against another building, you can see a bit down the road and into the shopping center across the road with some skyline thrown in there. Not the best view but at least you're not staring at another brick wall. Anyway, we paid our bill, confused for a moment because there's two registers but apparently they can only use the one at the front, left our tip, and left. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, but not really a praise-worthy one either in my opinion. It was a...
Read moreManager is the rudest person I’ve ever encountered. Complains about everything and would point and look at me and whisper to her employees about me. Doesn’t help employees when they ask for it and would just roll her eyes and yell. Not a pleasant place. Most of the girl employees, all but ONE, gave me dirty looks the whole time. Never met any of these people, in fact, I live an hour away from Shelby Township. The food? Disgusting. Put brown, soaking wet lettuce in a bowl and handed it to me. The fries the served me were barely even cooked and were also soaking wet, like they pulled a bag out of the freezer, cut it open, and dumped it on my plate. My sister had brought her kid here, also, and found out that the macaroni and cheese they serve is from a bag that is microwaved and then poured onto a plate. How can they serve kids that in order to save a small amount of money? My advice is to never go here. Such a cruel workplace and I hope they get run out of business. The food, the female employees, and the manager are repulsive. Good luck if you go there.
P.S. If I could rate this restaurant in the...
Read moreI am a regular carry-out customer and the food is usually pretty good for the most part. However, there fish and chips are awful here and the couple times I have had it I always get a bad after taste. However, there lamb and Chicken Gyro are pretty good here along with there side of rice. Their fries are awful here ( when I have gotten them in a carry-out) are usually very soggy which I hate. Which is why I don't get there fries anymore. There coney dogs with chilli are also very good here. But the main reason why I only gave it a three star review is that there service can be bad at times at this restaurant as they have messed up my order quite a few times. An example of this is that I say no onions on my lamb and Chicken Gyro and they put it on anyways. It upsets me that this happens quite frequently but I still come back because it is less than a mile a way from my house and I don't have...
