Quetzal Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Shepherdsville

Nastiest place I’ve ever eaten at. My husband sent his cup back 2 times because there were bugs floating in his root beer. The purple lights made it so hard to see them in the first cup because the place was extremely dark. For Mexican food it was very bland and tasteless. We were the only ones there and decided to try it because it was close to home and we planned on a few drinks. It was packed last week but realized it was for a party since we seen a venue at the back of it. But never again. Also completely missed the health inspection they failed due to cross contamination and their vending machines posted right at the entrance window. It’s considered a bar for a reason and they couldn’t serve any alcohol due to an expired liquor license. Maybe if the food tastes better you’d actually bring business to keep up the liquor license. My wife and I were not impressed with this place .The first thing we noticed is no one was wearing a mask or gloves behind the bar and was taking orders for our food and our drinks and handling those without those protections that are supposed to be worn and no social distancing was used. We had to ask for napkins and I got the coasters from the end of the bar. The meatballs was not very seasoned and too large for the sandwich there was no room left for the sauce and my wife had the chili which was not very well made it lacked chili flavor and had no onions in it which is a must for chili. I had a great experience except I know I was over charged. I’m on a keto diet and I log everything I eat or drink: I took my time this evening because I wanted to hear karaoke and I knew from my log I had 8 beers and 10 chicken wings along with one pickle back. I was charged for 13 beers. Being someone who logs every single drink there was no doubt I was over charged but I’m not one to complain in public so I paid and walked out. I hope the 5 extra beers was worth the 20 people I planned on Brit for my class graduation from Fort Knox. We will find another place to...
