Los Cotorros Mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Sheridan

We moved to Sheridan a few years ago and found this place to be a nice little date spot. We visited fairly frequently, and almost always had a great time. Recently, the poor experiences have become more and more frequent and we have stopped visiting as often. The last time we were here, we realized that we were being charged for something that we should not have been charged for. The dish had two meats, and we asked to replace one with the other. It was a $2 up charge that was not mentioned beforehand. When we asked the young lady serving us about it, she said that the meat did not come with the dish and that the charge was correct. My partner explained that it came with the dish, and suggested that the server check a menu. She did not say a word, she walked away. We thought she was grabbing a menu, but she walked past them. We assumed she was grabbing a manager, but ten minutes later she walked right past our table. She didn’t say a single word to us. We saw the man handling transactions and asked for confirmation that we were not wrong to suspect that we were wrongly overcharged. He assured us that we were not wrong, and corrected the bill. That was the first time I have EVER not left a tip for a server, not matter how my experience was. We did not go back for quite a while after that. Today, we decided to order some carryout, give it a second chance. The young lady who took our order was the same server from before, and I have no doubt that she recognized us. She took our order, the same meals as before. When I looked at the bill, I didn’t look closely enough to see that the SAME CHARGE HAD BEEN ADDED AGAIN. I had even left a small tip for her on the carry out order to try and quietly make amends because I felt a bit bad about our previous visit. It is my own fault for not looking harder, but I am very sad to say that we will not be going back. I rarely write reviews. I am not very picky with anything. I have worked in the restaurant and service industry, I know servers are human and have bad days and make mistakes but that does not excuse her walking away from us when we were having a civil, calm discussion about our concern...

We previously visited this place on a weekly basis. We went this week though and it was a complete disaster. We were told it would be 35 minutes until our order was ready. Showed up 35 minutes later to pick it up and found a line with 43 (I counted) people wrapped around the building. I stood outside for over an hour and watched the complete confusion of staff and the frustration of countless customers. We ordered food for 6 and asked the woman kindly to verify that our order was ours before taking it home. She assured me that it was ours and that it was correct. When we got home we realized that she had given us the wrong order even after we asked for her to verify it. I know I should have taken some time to do this myself but there were over 50 people outside at this time all of whom were freezing and upset. We called back 10 times that night and the line rang busy each time. Called back a couple days later and politely explained what happened. We weren't looking for a free meal but just an acknowledgement that they messed up (a margarita on the house wouldn't have hurt though). Instead, we were told by Claudio that they were too busy and that there was nothing that they could do. I don't think their attitude or customer service could have possibly been worse. Update**Unfortunately the place has gone downhill even worse since before. Under New Management which has given the place about a half a star down from one star before!!!!! Go to taco bell ! I never thought I'd say that but Taco Bell is better than this place.

I understand this is the only really sit-down restaurant in Sheridan but the food is actually horrible. I get the beef burritos and there's nothing inside but ground beef. No seasonings. The chips are stale. The older lady who is a server has no personality and is not very attentive to you at all. I'm not the first person who's commented about her as I look on the reviews. The only thing good there are the margaritas and even those lately have almost zero alcohol. You think for the prices that they have they could do a lot better.
