I feel bad leaving this review cause it is never my intention to try and hurt small businesses but at the same time I feel like people should have honesty behind their reviews. 60$ for 4 meals and only 2 drinks is a bit crazy for a very mediocre burger. This is literally nothing you couldn't make at home for a fraction of the cost. The burgers are very small and if you order fries and a drink its almost 15$. My son got the chicken strips he is three and wouldn't even touch them. My wife ate half the burger and threw the rest out, my daughter didnt even eat half and had a horrible stomachache along with myself. The nuts and bolts let's talk about. The pickles were very thin and almost chip like because they were so dry It was majority breading. The zucchini was not crispy. For eating at the restaurant their is no excuse for this. I feel like you could go to whataburger or wendys and be just as satisfied and for cheaper. The customer service is probably the only thing that saves this place and why people continue to return. Its a cool idea but they need better cooks. I tell the owner at one and only he needs to open for dinner time as well because it is by far the best burger place is sherman/denison area by far and for about half the cost. Now mind you this is my fourth time trying this place because I dont feel like you should base a review off of one experience it could be a bad day. But after 4 times in 3 years and every time has been below average I feel like people should be able to read an honest review rather than the people who have lived in sherman or denison their whole life and think this is quality. I've learned in the few years out in grayson county trying to find quality reliable restaurants is next to impossible. Im shocked when I read the reviews at these places and they are close to 5 stars but I guess if this is all your used to how do you...
Read moreSeveral people have recommended this place. I'm leary of local spots because they get comfortable with the locals and the change in food quality isn't noticed because it's a regular spot. After reading the most recent review, well written and quite long. They gave a lot of praise for service. Nope, not my experience. I even told her it was my first time there. Instead of taking pride in the place, she points to the menu. I eat out a lot, and most hosts or servers are always open to explaining to me what I may want, after I tell them what I like. Not only did she not do that, she actually laughed and sarcastically stated they weren't Smash Burger. Lol, seriously? I asked if you smashed or had thick burgers. I wanted to know the style of cook. Why is that wrong of me? She acted like she didn't have time for me, while I had to wait almost 5 minutes in line while 3 of them checked on a guys order, and they never asked him to step aside so two people can find his food, and one person can help a customer. I might be back when the owner is back in town. Maybe they operate differently when Boss is gone.
Food: single, with cheese, bacon, ketchup, mustard and Pickles. I threw away half of the burger and all the fries. The fries were horrible. Some salt would have helped. Is not seasoning fries a thing here? And maybe old? The staff seemed stressed, the best service was the young lady who brought my food to my truck. I am sorry to post this, but I think someone would want to know. There's more, I'm tired of typing. I'm sure they gotta be better than this....
Read moreToday was my first visit to MG's Burgers which I found while looking up burger joints in the area. I ordered the Fried Zucchini to start and it was very good with the zucchini nice and soft with the light and crispy batter on the outside. I got the Hot Rod Ford burger which was also very good. The sauce wasn't as hot as I was expecting, which for me was enjoyable. The burger was hot and juicy, and the ingredients all complimented the other with the beef, bacon, sauce, and condiments.
My favorite experience of MG's was the customer service. The staff conducted themselves professionally and with excellence. From the time I arrived, to checking on me, to getting me a Togo box and drink, I was very impressed and applaud the service I received.
The atmosphere is very nice with the building appearing to have been a mechanic shop and gas station during its history. Felt I stepped back in time seeing the old school coke machine and memorabilia on the wall.
I will absolutely be back during future visits to Sherman and look forward to trying these items again, with trying other menu...
