I sat for just over 10 minutes before anyone came by, and when someone did, it was a sweet girl who actually cared about the guests, and not my actual server. She got me the draft list and a water, took my beverage order, and assured me that my server would be over shortly. If not for her, would’ve been 1 star off for service and atmosphere. It was nearly another 10 minutes before I saw my server coming towards me with my beer. Yes, 20 minutes sitting at the table, and I’ve just now spoken to my server for the first time, and finally gotten my first beer. She apologized for the delay, saying “I didn’t realize I had been triple sat.” Now having confirmation of who my server was, I recall seeing her greet, get drinks, and take orders for 3 other tables, before even acknowledging me, 2 of which sat down after I did. She did not introduce herself, ask if I had any questions or allergies, or any of the other normal casual steps of service. I ordered a full three course meal, appetizer, salad, entree, and the first two came out at the same time, with the third coming before I’d finished the other two. I politely outlined that I wanted to enjoy my Dumpster tots first, then my half red rooster salad with blue cheese, and my wings after that. Casual dining like this, I can forgive a poorly coursed meal; however, you still should check on your guest. I had a total of 3 interactions with my waitress the whole time. She took my order, checked on me after my wings arrived, and dropped my check.
The dumpster tots (which I’ve had before and love) were cold. The cheese was unmelted, the bacon bits chewy, and the tomatoes were warmer than the tots. Unfortunately, she never checked in during this course, so I couldn’t ask for hot ones. The salad was a similar story. Chewy bits of salty pork fat (bacon bits?), lukewarm toppings, and overall just disappointing. At one point I saw her sitting down on a cooler and looking at her phone in the doorway of the kitchen for 5 minutes +. Two things saved this from a 1 star review: #1 the sweet girl who helped me at the start #2 I love Roosters sauce and wings. They’re always hot, sauces are flavorful, and they’re crispy and juicy.
I will still go to roosters, but I won’t be ordering anything but wings and beer, and I may or may not give this location another shot.
As a restaurant industry professional, it genuinely bothers me when people don’t even try...
Read moreExtremely dissapointing experience. I would like to give them no stars because we didn't get any food! Yesterday my husband and I went to Roosters on Dixie for the first time, actually for the first time ever in a Roosters restaurant. We were seated, got our drinks and appetizer: fried mushrooms; a couple of them were cold, I mean like they were just taken out the freezer cold, inside the fried batter, which it means were not cooked enough; so i had to spit them out cause I'm not into uncooked mushrooms; then we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited...45 min. We asked for wings and fries, nothing more, nothing less. Everybody else around us was getting their food, even people who came later than us. The girl that served us stopped by once to tell us the fod is on its way and dissapeared. When she came back the second time, around 20 min later, my husband asked for the bill and she still tried to convince us that the food is almost done! Almost done! Not done, after all that time, still not done! My husband requested the bill again which she brought but never left a pen to sign the damn ting. The manager didn't bother to come and say anything, the girl didn't bother to come and let us know they screwed up so we wouldn't waste our time; they just made us wait for almost an hour on their damn speciality food, chicken!!! Completely unprofessional!!! And then I'm wondering, if they screwed up the appetizer, how do they do with the main dishes?! So, maybe we were actually lucky, cause someone out there really loves us and didn't allowe us to get food poisoning or something of the sort?! We'll never know, we'll...
Read moreCalled in a take out order, real simple order, wings,lg salad fried pickles, some kinda onion feathers, was told 15-20 minutes and we only live maybe 5 minutes from this place,so I waited 10 minutes and then headed up there,so walked in the door at the 15 min mark, no signage on where to go so I flagged down a waitress , oh wait I had never been in here ever(explaining the no signage) told waitress I was there for a carry out order,so waitress pawns me off to the bar? I didn't need a drink, why do that? So uncomfortably I stood there waiting for bartender to acknowledge me finally she tells me to go over to this young girl in a tye dyed shirt and tell her,so I did,I pay her, stand there another 20 minutes then finally she ( tye dyed shirt) goes to back and gets my food, soon as I look at the bag I could tell that some new absolutely nothing about placing food containers in a carry out bag, cause the wing sauce was all over every container as well as the bag, my salad dressing was smashed in the bottom of the bag not even with the salad.whats the sense in calling ahead if I still had to wait 20 minutes to get our food? And then I had to rebag our food.and they were not busy what so ever..fried pickles were cold, the onion things were also cold.odds are I may never eat roosters again.soooo disappointed...
