My FIL picked Texas Roadhouse for his 75th birthday celebration. I jumped online to put us on the waitlist but it told me to call the store to setup because our party was 7. I called at 4:04pm and was on hold for 38 minutes. I explained to Jada that we would be coming in with a party of 7 at 6:30. She was very friendly and helpful. I received a confirmation at 446pm. We arrived at 625pm and were told that they didn't have us in the system so we could either wait an hour or we would have to share a small 6 top table. We tried but it just wasn't big enough. I again showed the hostess, Breanna, my confirmation and asked if she could find out what happened. I was met with a defensive attitude and that she didn't know, we weren't in the system. The manager, Jeremy, came to assist. But the hostess wouldn't stop talking so the manager asked me to move to the side out of her earshot. Instead of helping he simply said they only have 2 tables that would accommodate us and that it would be an hour or longer since those parties had been sat minutes before us. I spotted an empty table at the end that looked big enough for 7 and asked if he could add a leaf to the table so we could sit there. He seemed mad but agreed. He told us he wouldn't set up the table until the half of our party, that was in the, small booth went to the waiting area. He explained it was so he could seat another table but no one was waiting. I asked if they could just sit there for our inconvenience until he got the table, 3 booths away, set up. He had an attitude and said he wouldn't set up the table until they moved. So I asked for another manager and Jeremy disappeared. About 15 minutes later I was approached by Aspin who was so friendly and helpful. She had the table set up, apologized and asked if I'd like to let the managing partner know about my experience. Of course I said yes. She also told me that the hostess sat the last 8 top table under my confirmation and that is why we werent in the system. As I'm dealing with all of this and waiting on the managing partner, the hostess looks at me and says I don't like your attitude. I was amazed! I asked her to please wait for the managing partner and she could tell me in front of him. Which she did. No apology for her attitude. Todd was very friendly and helpful. He apologized, offered appetizers for our table and told me that Aspin would be available if we had any other problems since Jeremy and I weren't working well together. At this point we were happy customers again. We ordered drinks all but 2 arrived (2 large Octoberfest beer). The server, Donna, told us they had to switch the tap and it would be out soon. 30 minutes later they tell us they can't find a manager to change it but it'll be out soon. About 15 minutes later they inform us the October fest is empty. The two people order waters. We then waited over an hour for our food. 2 people didn't order out of fear of their food being spit on. I tried for over an hour to get Aspin but she was helping with takeout. Jeremy came over and said he would discount our table. He gave us a hero discount, which as I understand we were already entitled to because we had 2 veterans at the table. Thank you Texas Roadhouse for ruining a veterans 75th birthday celebration. A kind man who fought for our country and continues to give. He will be heading to Ashville North Carolina with the Red Cross in a few weeks to help out. This company should be ashamed...
Read moreYou can never go wrong with Texas Roadhouse, but the "take-out" process could use some refining. They don't take orders on the phone anymore, so I have to order online. That's fine! I have the app that I place my order on. But the last few times I've ordered, I have been missing items.
Today, I ordered my usual catfish since it's Friday. It comes with the creole mustard sauce or tartar sauce if you don't want that. When ordering online, there is an option to remove the creole mustard sauce. Which means that your meal will automatically come with it, right? Well, not only was I missing it today, but on numerous occasions. One of the reasons why I order the fish is because I love the creole mustard sauce. It just doesn't taste the same without it.
Second, I ordered extra rolls and clicked the option for regular butter. Well that's literally atotal of 10 rolls! You would think that if get a substantial amount of butter for that, but I didn't. I received a few butters that look pretty suspicious! Just look at the picture. I was like WTH is that!!!
Oh, and no silverware!!! I never get it even though it's an option when ordering through the app. I don't even understand why that's something you have to click in order to receive it since you're ordering food. Hell, I get silverware when I pull up to a drive thru at a fast food restaurant!!! Make it make sense!!!
But you know what, I should have checked my order before pulling off. But it's a shame that I even need to do that, especially after adding a tip. It was nice when we were you all showed us our whole order when we were allowed to enter the "takeout" area before Covid restrictions. At least we had the ability to check our food.
Some of these things may seem trivial, but my meal is totally incomplete without them! You know when you have your mind set on a complete meal and you have things missing? It totally changes your eating experience, especially when you'relooking forward to it! I am a fan of Texas Roadhouse, but you guys need to do alittle better to keep...
Read moreI absolutely love Texas Roadhouse steaks. So with that said, let's talk about my recent trip.
A friend and I went on Father's Day, so we knew going in it was going to be busy. We went at around 9 pm with the hopes it wouldn't still be crazy since they close at 10 pm. It was still pretty packed, but I checked us in, and the hostess said it would be about 10 minutes. They took my number and said I would get a text when a table was ready. My friend and I sat outside and talked for a while and waited for a text that never came. After 30 minutes, we went back inside and asked if we were going to be able to get a table cause it had been 30 minutes and the hostess originally said it would be 10. They said they would clear a table so we could get seated, and they did, but i wonder why we never got a text.
We ordered out food. My friend got the 6oz filet with double corn, and I got the 8oz NY strip with a loaded baked potato and green beans. It took quite a while for our food to come out even though by now the restaurant was emptying out, we thought this was kind of weird considering we both ordered our steaks medium rare. But sometimes it just takes a bit. The food finally arrived, and my potato was just a regular baked potato. I asked the waitress if she could get that fixed, and to be fair, she got it done quickly.
The food was great. Steaks were cooked perfectly and were melt in your mouth soft. There is an art to cooking steak, and lots of places can't get it right, but the cooks tonight nailed it. The sides were all great, and of course, the rolls were perfection as always.
It was a decent experience. I don't know what happened with the texting to let us know our table was ready and why our food took a little long to come out, but I'll chalk it up to them having a long stressful father's day. But I try to keep my reviews real so I base my stars on the service we had at that time.
I still recommend this place cause the steaks...
