This place is a total gem of a neighborhood find!
We were looking for some drinks and food on our way to an Everett AquaSocks game and stumbled upon Ridgecrest Public House and are now hooked.
First and foremost, the woman who curates the tap list is simply phenomenal. She not only has a great selection of hyper local beers (everything is from Seattle north to the border) but actually knows beer styles and can give specific information about everything she is pouring, as well as highly effective recommendations for something that will fit your particular needs. My wife and I are international beer judges and finding a bartender who can tell us more than simply whether something is dark/light is unusual. Here, however, when I asked for a good light non-hoppy beer, but voiced hesitation at trying a Northwest (usually hoppier than I like) pilsner (I love Continental pilsners) she steered me towards and assured me that I would like what ended up being a perfect pilsner from Chuckanut. In fact, it was so good that we're actually on the hunt for more beers from that brewery, so she not only did right by her pub, but actually helped create a new fan for Chuckanut. (We had several other beers we quite enjoyed too.)
Second, we were quite impressed with the ambiance, with plenty of different seating areas and even with live music out back, the sound level inside the pub was very pleasant. (I didn't even know there was live music until I wandered out back - that's how good the sound control is, which is something we appreciated.)
And although they offer their own food menu, we were impressed that they also allow outside food from whichever food truck is parked out front. On this particular night, the truck was Momo Express, which was some of the best Vietnamese food we've ever had.
Finally...the Lopez Island Ice Cream! We discovered this ice cream years ago and it truly is some of the best...and that is saying a lot considering how much of an ice cream connoisseur I am. In fact, when we first walked in and were trying to decide if we were going to stay and dine/drink at Ridgecrest, it was the Lopez Island Ice Cream on their menu that convinced us this place was legit. If they cared enough to carry the best local ice cream, then we figured it was worth sticking around and trying their beer and food (truck.) Seriously, little things like offering quality ZERT items makes a huge difference to those of us who pay attention to the finer details. And they don't mess around when it comes to scoop sizes. They gave each of us nearly a pint of ice cream!!! with the salted caramel being one of the top 5 ice creams we've ever had. (The cookies and cream is seriously legit too!)
We figured this visit would be a one off, but after having such a great all around experience, now plan to make a special trip to visit Ridgecrest Public House every time we're in Seattle in the future. Downtown Seattle has some great food and drink options, but we will be recommending to all our friends that they make the short drive out to Ridgecrest if they want a delicious and authentic Seattle dining/drinking experience.
Thanks for the great time, Ridgecrest. We hope to see you again...
Read more9/27/24 update: I have been here 3x since my first visit so I must like it. Just fair warning that the 2nd time I went the Mexican food truck was not there due to owner illness and the 3rd time I went the restaurant next door (Drumlin) was closed until Oct 1 (I failed to check Drumlin website but it was clearly posted there so my bad, but a note on Ridgecrest Pub's site would have been appreciated since they do mention Drumlin on their home page). 3rd visit everyone enjoyed the beer (I brought some beer connoisseurs) and Mexican food truck. Definitely has a neighborhood bar vibe and friendly. Will keep coming back.
First visit there today. Got there early and few folks around. The beer selection has something for everyone and choices for every palate - we had a porter, hef and red. The barkeep is knowledgeable, friendly and informative. She provided perfect recommendations for what we wanted. The food truck will be reviewed separately but we had the Mexican and it was terrific (the trucks rotate around so check the schedule on the website). Prices are a little high for food truck but definitely great flavor. I had the marinate pork taco, another has the beef tacos and another the chicken burrito on and all were please with the flavors. Lots of cilantro on the tacos so if you donât like cilantro make sure you state that. The sautĂ©ed onions are a nice add to the tacos. Parking was decent but there sure were a lot of cars for the few customers and confusing boundaries with the...
Read moreIt is not often that the folks in northernmost Seattle/Shoreline can find such a nice, comfortable, warmly inviting, laid back place as this to meet your friend for a pint. My friend and I were both pretty bushed after a brutal day of meeting nurses so we mostly debriefed but I did notice a pretty decent selection of ciders, IPA, stout, gluten free, and non alcoholic drink options. I was too tired to choose so I told the gal tending bar that I like hazy IPA and she hooked me up with something delicious. There are also snacks - chips and various chocolate from the chocolate man, which I had my eye on but did not purchase. Four stars only because it was a little crowded on a Wednesday night, but that's not really anyone's fault. Also, this place has food trucks and is dog friendly outside the venue, only service dogs inside. Crest theater and a coffee place are close by. I'll...
