I wanted to like it since I had been going to Suni's regularly since the mid 1980s. Was concerned about the negative reviews and unfortunately have to agree with many of them. The place itself is very nice. Bigger and well lit. Nicely decorated We ordered pizza, salads and hamburgers. Salads were large and very good. The hamburgers and fries were good but nothing like they were before and Im sure it was because their old grill was a classic and hard to replicate that char broiled flavor
The pizzas, however, we're not even close to what I was used to. Very disappointing. Not what I would expect from a pizza place Doughy thick crust that certainly was not made by hand. Had to be bought pre made. Undercooked with bland sauce flavor but lots of cheese.Did not look like and of the pictures I saw Kids ate it, though, but certainly not what I expected. I've had frozen pizzas that were much better. I'll give them another chance out of loyalty and try other items on the menu But please do something about those pizzas. They used to be so good. I guess I just expected better or maybe ...
Read moreIf you never went to their old location: this place has really great food! Their "half size" is what I consider a "normal size". The pizza is more toppings than crust (think Chicago style on a traditional crust). Lots of fun flavors for their shakes. Fun burger choices. Haven't tried the lasagna yet. That said: everything we've tried is as great as their previous location (5*). Parking can be tricky. When you come in, they ask if you are staying or takeaway. Huge takeaway business. They'll ask you to take a seat and bring you menus.
If you went to the old location: this isn't at all like the old location. Completely NEW vibe (4). Glad they got the second space; they are attempting to replicate the patio vibe (lots of windows). Service is about the same (a solid 4). The owner guy (I think that's who he is) still sits hangs out...
Read moreFood was just adequate. I had chicken gyro, which came on a spongy pita with a very blah sauce. The fríes were odd...seemed like they had been cooked on a grill; had crunchy stuck-together parte that made me wonder. I asked the server how they were made. She replied " That's not in my pay grade. They do their thing in back, and I do mine up here." That was the gift of ir. I replied that working the front requires knowing and being able to tell diners about the food you're serving. Also, she persisted in using the "waiter's we" - as in "How are we doing?" " Are we ready to order?" This is SO annoying. Service was cheerful and adequate though. Won't be eushing back. Will stick with Gyro Boss in LFP...
