If I could give it a zero I would. Not only was the food terrible, but the experience was even worse. The owner tried to force me to leave my 8 year old child at the restaurant as collateral while I go to the bank to get change for a $100 . My bill was $40, so she only owed me $60 back, but claimed to not have it. Also claimed to not take $100 bills, but I saw another gentleman across from us pay with one. Of course he was Caucasian and I am African American. So, anyway, at 2pm, what restaurant does not have $60. If not, this place should close. I see why it is always empty, and only has those few faithful customers. Blah...shame on you. Oh, and as for your chicken reference, I don't even go to the chicken shack down the street. Lol! She told me she bet I would not expect the chicken shack down the street to take a $100 bill so why should she. I informed her that every African American is not a criminal because she told me she had gotten a fake $100 a couple of days ago...but wait...how is that because I thought you didn't...
Read moreMy boys and I ate there last night, first time since they moved to new location. Our waitress was great, food was ok. Not the “original” Smitty’s pizza we were used to, but still good. Here’s my 1star review…you can no longer order half cheese/half whatever pizzas. I know right? Like what. My family has ALWAYS ordered half pizzas. We come from picky eaters. The waitress gave us an earful, more than I needed. If a customer is allowed to order a half pizza, the waitress will be FIRED. The owner apparently watches from a camera inside the restaurant. If a pizza is prepared half/half, the phone will ring and the owner will be firing someone. No thank you. I come from a customer service background. The customer is paying. If they want half cheese/half pepperoni, you accommodate. It’s the simple customer service thing to do. Last night ended my family’s long running Smitty’s pizza patronage. Apparently the owners do not need our business. Half cheese/half pepperoni is our choice, our order, our business. Period. Peace...
Read moreI forgot what the name of the person who tended to us was, but he was a man with a buzz cut and glasses. He really made our first time visiting Smitty's a lot better! Very hospitable, friendly, and kept checking in on us while being prompt with everything.
This was another place that was suggested to me for local pizza, and I'm once again thankful we tried it out. The inside gives off totally chill, relaxed, laid-back vibes from the person that greeted us in the front to the ambience inside. Definitely not a Cici's, and also not a bougie artisan pizzeria. It was nice!
Pizza tasted great, chock full of toppings. I'd say that a small breadsticks and medium pizza is adequate for 2 people, which is what we got with a bit leftover. Can definitely tell the dough is fresh and crisp, especially with the breadsticks dipped in their sauces.
Check it out! (Then afterward go next door to Southern Classic...
