Sweet Glaze Donuts — Restaurant in Shreveport

10 stars!!!!!!! I don't know why anybody goes to Southern maid around here with sweet glaze in business. Y'all are missing out. I was fortunate enough to run into this donut shop because I live pretty close. The first time I went I took my kids and we had chocolate milk and donuts while we sat in their dining area just chatting and having a laugh. Someone came out and offered my kids the hot fresh donuts after we had been there for a while, free! And it has been my go-to donut place ever since. The staff is always delightful and friendly. But the best part is that these are the best donuts in town. Try them and then try to call me a liar. They also have the best selection of breakfast foods like kolaches of all sorts. I think I've tried all of them at this point and all of them are delicious. I actually moved away but I'm back in town on business and went back to grab breakfast for my whole crew at my old job. After buying $30 worth of donuts LOL the guy behind the counter was so sweet and gave me a braided donut for free. These people are what small business is all about. Grabbed a selection here to do a taste test prior to bringing them to a gathering later on in the week. Everything I tried was phenomenal, and I am admittedly kind of a food snob. Everything was SO fresh - the chocolate eclairs were filled with delicious custard and not Bavarian cream (absolutely decadent) and were just the sliiightest bit crispy on the outside while being soft and pillowy on the inside. The apple fritters tasted like they were made with freshly chopped apple and not something out of a can. The sweetness level of the plain glazed donuts was perfectly balanced - I won’t describe each one but they were all delicious, even donuts that aren’t typically my favorite. Wonderful selection of donuts, kolaches, and specialties. The boudin kolache is the biggest softest kolache in town! And they come in spicy! The glazed donuts are huge and fluffy with just the right hint of vanilla. We bought a dozen and ate them over three days and they never got stale.
