We unfortunately came in an awkward situation. As we were walking in, the bartender was quitting/walking out on her scheduled shift after a disagreement with a manager. Lucky for us, Eric was our server and did a fantastic job of not only continuing to give us the best service he could while working in a drama filled environment but also stepping up and trying to bring morale back up when the manager was failing to do so (and honestly causing more drama from what we saw). My husband and I had a long and intense day and had just stopped for the night to sleep. We saw Coltons across the parking lot from our hotel and couldn't wait for a meal and drink. Eric, who has bartender experience, but isn't currently trained as a bartender there yet offered to go ask if he could still make our evening as the bartender had just quit/walked out. We never talked with a manager. They were around and we heard them chirping. But they never offered help, thanked us for coming in, etc. I am fully aware how difficult the situation they were in may have been, but a good manager would have never let customers suffer, hear everything going on, let alone allow customers to hear them being a part of the situation. Seriously, Eric (and the other female waitress working with him) should be promoted and the managers there last night shouldn't be allowed to manage people if you want to keep your business alive. After talking more with Eric and praising him for how he handled the situation we found out that a manager recently passed away. He talked extremely highly about the GM Stanley and the Owner Ben. He didn't ill talk anyone, even after we had witnessed the interactions with the manager. My husband manages people in multiple locations for an extremely profitable company and he saw something special in Eric. If you choose to try Coltons soon, possibly give them some grace as they're struggling but hopefully Eric will still be there and you'll be blessed if he is! As for food, it probably wasn't the best night for us to judge much as the kitchen was full of drama as well. But nothing was awful. The okra and cold beer were...

I ordered a water before the meal and asked for them to bring me a bottle of root were with my meal (root beer never arrived) and a refill on the water was not offered u til I had been done eating for a few minutes.
My wife and I split the "Trail Potatoes" (Potato Skins). They were overcooked with an uneven distribution of cheese and green onions. If you like the back side of potato skins to be blackened and crunchy, this may be how you like them. I prefer a crispy skin, not burnt.
My daughter got the steak tips from the children's menu. We ordered medium and they came somewhere between medium-well and well-done. She did not like them. My wife tried them and said they tasted very old.
The rest of our party had various negative comments about their food, but the most glaring were that condiments such as honey mustard and steak sauce that had been requested were missing.
The restaurant was also apparently low on supplies staying they were almost out of ribs (indicating that if we all wanted them, we might need a backup plan) and completely out of smoked sirloin.
The floor was a mess (it's a Colton's, you throw peanut shells on the ground so this is expected) but beyond the normal. A waiter even commented to the table next to us that he had almost slipped on butter in the floor that he felt someone should have already cleaned up.
Aside from this, we promised my daughter we'd split an "Ultimate Brownie Sin-Sation" with her if she finished her food. Due to the quality of our meals we were looking forward to something that would be difficult to make poorly and waited around to order it. At this point, I've seen out waitress 3 times (once when she took our drink orders, again when we got our drinks, and a final time when we got a refill after half of us were done eating). With everyone else sitting waiting on a bill, I gave up and we requested the check instead opting to grab a treat from...
Read moreWe really enjoy Colton’s and try to go anytime we pass through a town that has one. Our visit to the Sikeston location therefore was disappointing when it did not deliver to the standard we know Colton's to have. We were greeted cordially and seated quickly. Sadly, that was the only thing that moved quickly. They were slow to take our order and out of several items, including sweet tea. Took a long time to get the food. Sweet potato was hot and delicious. Steak was lukewarm, dried out, chewy, flavorless and devoid of seasoning. I quit eating it after I almost choked on a bite that wouldn’t break down. While waitress was pleasant, service was lacking. We went long periods without seeing her. As a result she never offered to refill water, we had to ask and then wait quite awhile for water, because she would disappear. In the meantime the table next to us, who arrived midway through our meal, received sweet tea even though we were told there was none to be had and no tea bags to make more. We were on a schedule so didn’t want to lengthen the stay by sending food back, it was already taking too long. We asked for our check and sent our credit card back only to have the wrong amount charged to our card. About $40 less than what it should have been. Once again waitress was nowhere to be found to ask about the discrepancy. Finally got it worked out. The restaurant was not overly busy, with lots of workers going back and forth. They did not appear to be short handed. Did not see a manager walk through the room the whole time we were there. No one ever stopped by our table to ask about the meal. As I said from the beginning, this is not the Colton’s standard I am accustomed to. Maybe it was just an off night for them, but feel like there...
