Tio's Cafe — Restaurant in Simi Valley

Tío's is a mainstay for my wife and I. The food is good and very consistent in it's excellent quality. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The owner works in the restaurant, and she places great importance on customer satisfaction. The environment is casual, and you never have to wait more than a minute for seating. I have probably eaten at Tío's at least 50 times, so my comments are based on lots of "data". For breakfast I recommend the following: -Homemade corn beef hash and eggs -Country fried steak and amegcs -Machaca and eggs -Chorizo and eggs -The vegetarian omelette (and I am NOT a vegetarian) The burgers and all the hot sandwiches are excellent.

This is a very good, everyday restaurant where you can count on good food, good service and a friendly atmosphere. It is not "fine dining", but if it were, it would not survive in...

Visited a couple times now and while their service has improved since my last visit, I still think it needs 1 more star worth of energy to take me over the top. On my 1st visit, it took them long to visit our table to see what we wanted to eat. On today’s visit, we were welcomed immediately and our order was taken rather quickly and our food was prepared a lot faster too. Where they still lack in service is at the end when you’re waiting for your ticket. Seems like an eternity. But the trick I found was to simply start walking up to the register and your ticket gets presented to you on the spot.

Their food tastes good. I liked their ABC omelette and I added chorizo for extra flavor. It was full of flavor. Highly recommend it especially with their homemade salsa added on top.

If you like toast, I noticed they have some homemade jelly...

We have lived in Simi Valley for a year and have driven by Tios many times. Thought it was a basic taquillera. We looked online and saw they served breakfast, so we decided to give it a try. We opened the door to see a huge sitting area. We realized it was a full service diner. We were seated quickly with menus. We had to wait to see our waiter. They were busy, but the manager and hostess picked up on the fact that others arriving after us already had drinks and orders placed. The hostess came and took our drink order and found our waiter. Food arrived quickly and was outstanding. Our waiter did not miss anything after getting us going. We would have rated 5 stars for service if not the first delay. This will now be our go-to restaurant for breakfast as the food and atmosphere...
