Whiskey and Ashe — Local services in Slidell

A fine establishment catering to the cigar aficionado and his friends. The atmosphere is relaxing with a bar area, a living room set up with leather easy chairs, sofas and love seats. There's also a really nice patio in back. The smoke elimination system works well; you're going to smell cigar smoke, of course, but your eyes won't burn and you can breathe. The crowd is mostly locals, making it a genuine neighborhood bar. I've yet to run into anyone here whose been rude or had too much to drink. All are friendly and able to carry on an intelligent conversation. No loud and rowdy people here. The bartenders have all been delightfully friendly, professional, and educated in their craft. The selection of premium whiskeys will not disappoint and there are a lot of choices in their walk in humidor. Whiskey and Ashe is a one-of-a-kind for Slidell. They offer a fine selection of cigars, as well as an impressive list of whiskey, bourbon, and others with major names and smaller batch labels of every variety. They also have cigar lockers available for rent and a great craft cocktail list.

It’s very smokey, which is to be expected. They do have air cleaners positioned throughout the place yet they seem to do little. No complaint here.

We ordered several rounds of the same cocktails, some made by one bartender, and after she clocked out, the rest were made by another bartender. While good, they were inconsistent by way of taste, garnish and volume. They were also out of several items to make a couple of drinks on the craft list.

Once entering an establishment such as this, be prepared to be whisked away into a world of fine whiskey and cigars. Where a myriad of selections and terrific atmosphere await even the most experienced coniseurs out there.
