Original review was written approximately 2 months ago. Please see below for how much things have changed! We picked the Smyrna location based on the fantastic meal we had previously. Despite having a mediocre experience with take-out between these 2 visits, we decided to go again because pizza is always better when its hot and fresh. Well, we thought so anyway.... We ordered a large "build your own pizza". We did 1/2 and 1/2 which I know adds some additional challenges but we've never had issues before (either here or other places). They brought out the pizza (after a bit of a longer wait than expected with them being fairly empty) but we were ok with that. Until we discovered it was made incorrectly! My gut told me that it might be wrong, since the server didn't write anything down and didn't seem too enthused from the get go. We re-ordered the pizza, making it very clear again what we wanted. I suggested she write it down this time in hopes of getting it made correctly the 2nd time; which she did begrudgingly. Well, 3rd time is the charm, right?!?! We don't know if the server made the error or the cook, but the THIRD time I personally wrote the order down on a napkin (split it up by each half and made it very simple and clear) and handed it to the cook. The crust was awful, the thickness was very uneven and it was chewy with 4 small pieces on one side and 4 large ones on the other. We were super hungry at this point so didn't care and ate it anyway. We were quite surprised when our check came at full price! We actually had to wait a while to ask the server to bring us the check because she kept disappearing. We asked for a discount since they made so many mistakes and we were given a 20% discount, although they weren't happy to do it. I then gave my rewards number which was never entered in; apparently because I received a discount for their mistake, I couldn't receive anything else. And the kicker, not one single apology from anyone working there that evening!!! When I asked for our "Dough Rewards number" to be entered I was told that no one knew how to do that because the sale was already rung up. When I asked for a manager they told me they didn't have one. When I asked who the most senior employee was there that night I was told it was our server. I asked for her to come correct the issue with our rewards, and someone came back to me to tell me it would be a while because the server was on the phone in the bathroom. After waiting a few more minutes, I left. I contacted the owner's other location in Hiram. The manager there let the owner know I had a problem and relayed the message to me that Ken would call me Monday. I called back late Monday afternoon thinking he just forgot, and again Tuesday afternoon...but still no phone call by the end of the business day on Tuesday. So I guess the new owner just doesn't care about his business which is a HUGE disappointment because we were so excited to have a much needed change at that location which used to be so terrible. I even wrote the below review praising them because we were so impressed a few months ago. So, now I know not to ever go back to the Smyrna OR Hiram store!! Original 5 star review... We were super impressed with the "new" Johnny's in Smyrna! We had not eaten there for several years and were pleasantly surprised to hear it is under new ownership which prompted our visit. Great service and great pizza! https://www.facebook.com/JohnnysNYPizzaSmyrna/about

Who doesn't love pizza?! My favorite place was closed this past Monday so I opted to try out Johnny's via Door Dash. I even went with one of their specialty pizzas over my usual combo of pepperoni, black olives and pineapple. The pizza was really good and the service from the Door Dasher was also awesome. What wasn't amazing was the appetizer. I ordered the Insalata Caprese, it is my fiance's absolute favorite, but what arrived was a large to-go container literally full with diced tomatoes, pieces of mozarella, balsamic vinaigrette and crackers. I thought maybe they just got it wrong so I went back to the website (of course there are no pictures), but what sounds vaguely similar to what I received (minus the bread and balsamic) is Johnny's Bruschetta. I immediately called and was advised that not only does the restaurant not have control over the pictures in Door Dash, but that it could also be representative of a different Johnny's. She also explained that what I received IS in fact the Insalata Caprese of this specific Johnny's. There is no way this is representative of Caprese and if it is, why did I get vinaigrette instead of the actual balsamic glaze that is stated in the menu? This will be the first time I have ever had Caprese like this and will be the last time I order from Johnny's.

I stopped here once to try a slice which I found to be relatively decent so last night I order a large, thin-crust pepperoni pizza. At $20 it was a little expensive and the extra $10 for for taxes, fees, delivery charges and tips was a little unsettling but to have a NY style pizza delivered would have been worth it. Problem is, the pizza sat 15 min before the delivery guy even picked it up, took 15 minutes to find me (I was 3 miles away) because apparently the Door Dash driver’s map app is 100 yards off mark. So, the pizza was room temperature and it was thick, not thin crust, even though they charge an extra $3 for thick crust (I guess that was supposed to be a come-up? Free extra dough??). It looked like a medium, not a large and there was easily 20% less pepperoni than I could get at Little Caesars for $6. Needless to say, as far as I’m concerned, I just wasted $30. Coming from New Jersey, 15 miles from Manhattan, this was anything but a thin-crust NY-style pizza. Maybe you’ll have a better experience and/or have never had really good pie but unfortunately, I will continue my quest for excellence elsewhere.

If you're looking for terrible customer service, condescension at large, and a lack of attention to detail, this is the place for you! To give some background, I've been dining at Johnny's Pizza for almost 7 years now, mostly at the Acworth location. However, since moving, the Smyrna location has been the closest to me for the past 3 of those 7 years, so we resort to ordering from their location, which has resulted in several forgotten items, and is usually lacking in kind, caring customer service.

Tonight I placed a carry out order at this location for a birthday celebration, and for starters, the woman who "helped" my fiancée at the carry out desk was extremely condescending. When asked if she needed the order number for our carry out, she simply didn't respond, so when my fiancée began to give her the order number she interrupted snidely with, "Yeah, I need the NAME please, thanks." To follow, my fiancée arrived home only to find that the 3rd pizza on our order was not included (we ordered garlic knots as well, so the amount of physical pizza boxes was not noticed at pickup), and the 2-liter we ordered was also not included. Both items were indeed on the receipt.

When we called to speak with a manager, the same rude woman answered the phone and asked "Sir, can you just explain to me the NATURE of your issue, because I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do". What a TERRIBLE excuse for customer service. The food is great, we truly love Johnny's Pizza at least in that sense, but I cannot believe how underrated their service is at this location.

I'd like to sincerely thank the extremely kind manager Emily for personally driving us a new pizza and making amends as such, but this review serves as a constructive reflection on your locations current level of...
