EXPENSIVE!!! The sushi was very good. The hibachi and the price not so much. We ordered the yummy roll with smoked salmon instead of tempura. We also had the filet/chicken/shrimp hibachi that was nearly $40 and with the tiny side of extra vegetables they charged $7 for it was $50 alone and it had NO flavor. It was drenched in some thick sauce that only served to give it a slimy texture. The whole plate tasted like it hadn't been salted so we heavily salt and peppered it ourselves to make it edible. We also relied on the ginger sauce. Found three microscopic pieces of egg in the fried rice and the "clear soup" was no better. Two tiny pieces of mushroom with maybe five hair thin sliced pieces of spring onion. Our ticket was $80! Compared to other similar restaurants that turn out a much better plate of hibachi with a chef who cooks at the table on a grill... it's awfully STEEP! Asked the oriental lady at the front if they offer mil/first responder discount and she vigorously shook her head no without saying a word. Will only return for...
Read moreSushi House is by far one of the best places to eat in Snyder. The food is fantastic including presentation. Although it is a bit pricy, but it is well worth the price. The food is fresh and well prepared. The service is friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the decor is traditional Japanese. It is definitely one of our favorite places to eat. If you are hungry and need a quick bite, check out the daily lunch specials, they also have a great variety of sushi and drink options including beer and wine. We like to order the chicken and steak with fried rice, it is delicious! The building started out as a Taco Bell, then was converted to a BBQ joint, then it became Heff's Burgers and now the Sushi House. They have been doing really well and I hope they stick around a long time. We highly...
Read moreFor Snyder, this place is a gem. "Competent sushi" is not something that is easy to find in West Texas, but this place fits the bill. The standard maki rolls were perfectly prepared, and the specialty rolls were unique. I recommend the spicy kani salad cold appetizer and the eastern roll. The waitstaff were very attentive and did a great job keeping the table clear. To top it off, the prices are incredibly reasonable, even the specialty rolls as they are about twice the size I would have expected. I will be stopping by for the 3 rolls for $11 lunch special frequently.
As an FYI, tips are shared between the waitstaff and the sushi chefs. Give a little more if you order sushi as those guys have a skill that is hard to master and they...
