33 minutes for a chili cheese dog and grilled cheese. After the server realized it was taking so long she ignored us. Made eye contact three times then quickly turned away. "We had a really big to go order" was what I was told after going up to the counter to ask where the food was. Terrible service. The chili dog consisted of half a bottle of mustard, a dog with an extremely chewy tough skin and soggy bread. The chili was good, the pickle was good. The cole slaw was missing flavor and freshness. I would normally save my review for a second chance but this is at such bad level I just want to pay my bill and never come back. The wife's grilled cheese was supposed to have four cheeses. Well, dry bread and some cheese is an understatement. Extremely disappointing. Her fries were ok? Do not recommend.
Follow up after management response: I've posted a picture of the hot dog I was served both covered in mustard and without bacon. Three tables that came in after us were served before us. Maybe this is all just circumstance and unfortunate. I do believe however had we been asked or informed of the situation it all would have been much more palatable but I had to go up to the counter after thirty minutes to ask what was going on. She asked if she could help me so I responded with, yes could I see your menu? She began to tell me that before I look at the menu to look around behind me. She says all of these people dining in would all have to be served first before me. I couldnāt understand that logic because the people behind me came in with the intent to dine in and socialize with family members. So you mean to tell me that anyone that comes in for takeout has to wait for every last one of the sit down diners meals to come out first??? As excited as I was to try out some of their food I sat for a few moments and then decided to leave. First, that's not a gratuity, that is part of the bill, because you don't give me a choice. Next, do you also add this to "in restaurant" orders? If not, now it is a fee for placing a "to go" order. Finally, gratuity is earned, not assumed, nor required. If you staff REQUIRES additional monies to "place a to go order on the counter and take my payment", you need to give them a rise. YOU, the owner, not me the customer.
Playing golf with an attorney friend this weekend. I think I will see if I can sue you in small claims court for this charge. Somebody needs to get a landmark decision against restaurant owners in place and stop any charges being added to my bill in the name of a "gratuity".
