My first time experience did not meet expectations. Walking in, I did not know what to anticipate. Food was ordered and paid for upfront, leaving you only hoping you like what you just paid for. I ordered their breakfast plate, and specified over medium eggs and link sausage. All their utensils are in baskets, but I was not told this by the person taking my order although I specifically told her it was my first time. All condiments are on a table in the back of the restaurant except salt and pepper, not told this either until after my food had been served. No real butter available in the condiments area, not sure if they use artificial on the food as well. They did bring my food to the table, but presentation is definitely lacking and everything is served on disposable Hefty styrofoam. The eggs I ordered were very runny and definitely reminded me of over easy not over medium. The one biscuit soft 3/4 of the way through and then completely hard, to the point of not even being able to cut it with a knife, at the end. The link sausage I ordered was served as smoked sausage. Thankfully, I've yet to come across someone in the south who can mess up grits, so no complaint there. If I could have chosen my presentation however, my grits would've been in a bowl not running all over the sausage as they were served.
Bottom line. I really didn't get what I paid for, though price points are fairly reasonable. My plate cost $6.30 before tax. It seems to be a fairly popular breakfast spot, as it was recommended to me as a first choice in Social Circle, GA. Perhaps it's all my past memories of visits to this town with meals at the Blue Willow that have soured my tastes to other...
Read moreSo I visited Mamies kitchen which I rarely go often but go since my grandmother and Cousins eat their and that’s the only thing Social really have breakfast wise besides subway which ain’t much. The Customer has gotten awful. It’s literally four to five people up front. Please tell me why the food I order sitting on the counter for the last 3 to 4 minutes when she called out that the food is ready. Yet they sitting their talking and not paying attention which the fact they got the order completely wrong. I stop eating here a long time ago. But the People and the service has gotten awful. When they opened up they were amazing and presentful but now I guess they making all that money they just rush the food care less about the customer service. Social Circle I guess don’t have that small town vibe anymore because it’s definitely growing. I had to take a step back for a minute but you can definitely see the change. But sorry I told my grandmother if it wasn’t for her eating their I...
Read moreI have been a customer of Mamie’s since I was a young boy. Some thirty odd years or so ago. They have grown from a few small locations in Lithonia and Conyers. Happy to see that they are still providing quality food and have branched out. This was my first time at this location. The staff was bubbly and polite. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Pricing is fair for the area. They serve Coca-Cola products and tea/coffee. I would definitely recommend this location for the quality of food and service. If you live nearby or are traveling through be sure to stop in for a quality country breakfast that will stick to the ribs...
