Desert Diamond — Restaurant in Socorro

Normally, I do not write reviews. But this experience has proved an exception.

When we ordered, we had not received our menus. The waitress took our drink orders and asked what we wanted, but we did not have any guide. After a reasonable wait, we received our main course, but our appetizer of chips and salsa had not arrived, so we cancelled them. The food was fine. Our rice and beans were both lukewarm at best, and the cheese tasted powdery and cheap, and the tacos did not come with green chili, as requested. Besides that, the food was nothing to write home about.

As we ate, one of the waters were finished, and it was never refilled.

When we had finished the main meal, the waitress came back and asked if we were ready for the check. We had both ordered a dinner plate specifically for the sopapilla it came with, and we requested those. After going to the kitchen, our waitress informed us that they were out of the dough, and offered to take it off the check for us. We accepted, but when we received the check we did not have any deduction for them, and we decided just to leave because we were fed up.

In addition to all of this, the atmosphere of this establishment is lacking, and it seemed a little dingy and dark inside.

For the service, our waitress was polite and nice, but the problems overshadowed the benefits.

We visited here for lunch today for the first time and let me tell you what it was so worth it. I ordered the three taco burger meal that they are famous for and substituted the beans and rice for their green chile cheese fries.

I am now stuffed to the gills and ready for the day. The food was the best me an my wife have had since we came to the area 2 months ago.

If you want amazing food at a great price you need to stop here and give them a try. Note right now it takes a little bit to get your meals as they are short a server and dishwasher at the moment, but the girls working here are doing a great job staying on top...

From the outside you may think this place isn't worth stopping by. But when you walk in the door you will be amazed! This place absolutely shined inside! The bench style booths are beautiful! There are also tables with chairs. Our waitress was very attentive, and provided service with a smile. Our meals came out very quickly. The taste was as good as it looks!
