We are from Socorro and have spent many an evening in The Capitol! However, we don't visit very often and this our first time in The Capitol since 2004. We really like what Joanna and Earl have done with the place. It is bright and clean, the food menu looks great (we showed up late so we didn't try any food), and the beer selection was awesome! Great selection of their own brew and tons of other options. We tried the Jailbreak IPA and it was delicious. Nice citrus flavors and no bitterness. Finally and most importantly the service was top-notch. Roxy was friendly, attentive and professional. She explained that she was new and had to check with the more experienced person when we had questions. She was able to get answers quickly from the other staff member. I was not expecting a large selection the day after Cinco de Mayo, however I was disappointed most with the quality of service and the rudeness of the bartender. Her bad attitude was enough to ruin a day, so I left and decided to go to the Bodega brewing company instead. Did not regret! Solid coffee (would recommend trying the butterscotch), plentiful and atmospheric seating both inside and outside, relaxed environment, and a selection of pastries (includes croissants, danishes, and/or pies) make it a great place to slow down and enjoy a free morning.
